Today’s Thought “The After-Party” G. Ward 2 Peter 1 5 Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, 6 and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness. Ladies, Tyrone appears the most handsome man in the room. Moreover, he was so debonair in his approach when asking little old me to dance. He would say all the right things, but he also seemed so well acquainted with the cognac he nursed and while every line of questioning that could ordinarily exist from your sound mind is nullified by desire to have so greatly, you’re soon to be horribly disappointed by Tyrone’s new journey with Susie. Gentlemen, you also have been called to guard against spiritual lapse; therefore, contentment unto Holy God’s demand must be precedent and whereas one’s mother is the example enabling marriage, every encounter with women must believe by exuding respectful restraint.

Today’s Thought “Defining Arrogance” G. Ward Proverbs 18:13 If one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame. I’m older now and concerned about potential lapse in becoming one of those who think it and say it. I truly believe my spiritual training allowed heavenly adjustment of an attitude more reflective of ever believing, ever hoping, but my struggle with flesh remains. My concern most certainly isn’t pertinent to a frequent visitation from family and friends, because Gunsmoke comes on several networks and numerous times per day (I don’t need the interruption, particularly while enjoining myself in periodic napping to dream I’m Matt Dillon). I’ve shared my ambivalence unto a future recognizable onto the Holy standard I so love through a rightful exercising in thoughts disquieted, particularly while in others presence and my good friends (so very positive) have assured me of a great probability in not living too much longer to worry about such; they further, “Greg, with all the mouth you have, surely one of these villainous criminals will take you out!” My work here is unfinished and more intimacy with our Lord’s Way is required (cf. * Jas.2:13) …

Today’s Thought “Bad Ain’t So Good” G. Ward Romans 14 22 The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is the one who does not condemn himself in what he approves. I’m given many portrayals in extreme laughter from a varied social media outlet from others and recalling one such exposure on perhaps two years ago. I’m a very silly fellow (particularly the older I become) and enjoy great laughter. The person sending this hilarious correspondence knew what I needed in that moment but failed to share that it would allow a rotation (when prompted) of similar videos. For the next hour I sat amused as I surfed vigorously, absolutely captivated and unable to move. Since exercising in this constraint, I eliminated that app and after being released from the mental ward vowed to not permit anything to enslave me again. There is however a new app where these challenging puzzles are absolutely overwhelming and besides that, Warm Springs Asylum wasn’t too bad. Everyone can stand a little therapy… New Year resolutions aren’t bad until it insists on partnership with another not ready.

Today’s Thought “Spiritual Slump?” G. Ward Psalm 103 10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our guilty deeds. 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him. Have you witnessed one walking with an umbrella while the rain is profuse and refusing to open it (for cover)? What about another who prepares a meal (because they’re famished) and won’t take a bite? Grace from Holy God happens on terms of His loving us and when the object of faith (Christ and His righteousness) has become our confession of Him as worthy to lead and guide our every step, HE will shelter any against feelings of inadequacy, along with preparing a table for one needing spiritual provisions amidst a chaotic society. There’s a daily exploration of such awaiting our immediate prompting that considers not who I’ve been, but what HE desires me to become (1 Cor.6:9-11, 1 John 1:9).

Today’s Thought “The Sweater from the Cheap Store” G. Ward Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. While home trash receptacles are filled with wrapping paper and gift bags, what was inside may not have met your standard. Perhaps it’s based on what you’ve spent on their gift? Moreover, they know how you exercise in choosing exquisite gifts each year (for exchange) and should reciprocate accordingly? While in the return line on today, perhaps you can think on the 39 who perished on yesterday due primarily to the harshness in weather (nationwide). The practiced, intangible care that stands alongside our fellowman with no objective in receiving anything may ultimately understand the compassion given you…

Today’s Thought “Gift Bags vs. Wrapping” G. Ward Psalm 73 28 But as for me, the nearness of God is good for me; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, so that I may tell of all Your works. Asaph would register great complaint in this psalm as he would ponder all the success from those negligent in honoring Holy God and whereas it appeared that those who sought faithfulness (unto the Lord) endured greater sufferings, his carnal mindset would be disquieted, revealing a spiritual, reverent response. In arrival towards better sensibility, gratefulness gained entry to know that a relationship determined in total dependence on the Creator remains more than anything (vv.17-24). Someone may be missing, along with gifts presented from lesser stores and while meteorologists have determined extreme cold, along with 9 hours of sunlight, may it all be overshadowed by a spiritual sensibility found in you that allows Heaven’s warmth to comfort your heart, particularly as you envelope the love relationship with Holy God who absolutely loves you.

Today’s Thought “A Successful Season” G. Ward Ephesians 6:18 “With every prayer and request, pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be alert with all perseverance and every request for all the saints…” What if believers were all of the same mindset (Phil.2:1-7), seeking to be obscure, but when noticed are without opinion, extending congenialities unto any with kindness towards the whole of mankind? Moreover, as these Light bearers would also make themselves available in sharing best encouragement (i.e., the gospel), that recognizes a dutiful process towards others involving what ultimately is a daily pursuit versus a once a week equipping; do you think a season that should embody Jesus as its reason would move beyond two months of extending well wishes to our countrymen? Our Sufficient King knew we’d need to make supplications for one another, because the task at hand remains monumental to fulfill and remains the Gift that keeps giving.

Today’s Thought “Goal; Everyday, A Holiday” G. Ward James 2 5 Listen, my beloved brothers and sisters: did God not choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? Peppermint sticks, cookies and fruit were perhaps the gift exchange in your grandparent’s day and hurry was attributable with chores of sorts and whereas we celebrate modern day conveniences, even scurrying to purchase devices the more, causing moments in euphoria, we know (ultimately) there’s an engineer in some sterile laboratory inventing a new, improved gadget that will keep us on the gerbil wheel. While we pity other nations depleted of such opportunity, particularly those without a Walmart in every district, let’s not forget an homage now unimaginable for us, “you can’t miss something you never had.” A hurried life is bound to leave another behind (cf. Matt.9:36-38) …

Today’s Thought “What If I Don’t Have a Chimney?” G. Ward John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.” There’s a theological measurement worthy to explore in this familiar passage that can offer a wrongful charge when study is neglected. The language appears concise (and is), but there’s a key expression of love appearing past tense, when actually ongoing. Our Father is loving the universe HE created. HE therefore invites us to participate in the same (1John 4:7-8). Our residing in such a rich nation, allows an exercise in fiscal discipline several months before Christmas and whereas last moment shopping becomes necessary with numerous gatherings planned, that includes great benevolence from so many that ensures those attendees know of their genuine care for them. How fortunate we are in such a celebratory time; but have we given much thought to the universe our Father is still loving? Many countries are with missionaries who steadfastly forsake familial opportunity in gathering as they increase newest family in the strange land of their commissioning by disseminating Truth (John 14:6) and proving the love in our theme. We tend to be somewhat self-absorbed when reading passages with equal similitude of John 3:16 and whereas the teacher would incite awareness to a student appearing aloof to his/her efforts to educate them by insisting they knew that as an educator they’ve pinnacled in the subject matter presented, it’s now become their (the student’s) opportunity to adjust accordingly. In other terms, we’ve delighted in all our Savior has given, so let’s ensure others have the same.

Today’s Thought “I Know What’s Under the Tree” G. Ward 2 Corinthians 9:7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Tis the season, is the incessant echo from many and particularly so the week before Christmas. I’ve been troubled concerning the orders given unto those givers from their loved ones and friends, thinking the objective was a presentation from one’s heart consideration of their periodic encounter (with surprise, not what they told me they want). Is there to be a 26th and is this exorbitant purchase to be cherished forever unto these recipients? Probably not, some won’t even say thank you. As the abuse emanated not from these ingrates of current times, but from the beginning of time, we too must endure (*John 15:20). The gift we’ve received with Christ’s entry, did so to best understand that giving is better than receiving.

Today’s Thought “Insurance Is Not Assurance” G. Ward John 14:27 “Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” Our predecessors would share that all the money in the world won’t buy one health; indicative of the avenue of being grateful unto sufficiency/contentment. These expressions were borrowed from the Word of God and are no longer the common regard unto many; causing nomadic frivolities to be celebrated for appearances to look different, even lauding exacerbations of “own your own power” (e.g., difficult to do when you lack ability to claim a next moment in breath). While many abhor New Year resolutions, I celebrate resolve on any given day to not mimic newest ideology that discounts theology of old (*1 Pe.1:24-25).

Thursday, December 15, 2022

Today’s Thought “Every Praise” G. Ward 2 Corinthians 9:7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. My attitude for each day presented won’t awaken to thoughts of thank You Lord for another day above ground; particularly upon yesterday’s mediocrity (cf. Matt.28:19) that had a few in my presence needing the Gift that keeps giving (John 12: 46) and failing to share (intentionally) His love for them and while I celebrate great benevolence from so many (at this time of year) unto those less fortunate, to then contemplate some of those same recipients may soon be without sufficient means after all the festivities breaks my heart. There is however an adoption process understood by every believer through Heaven’s generosity that found us, insisting we’d emulate the Savior’s example and whereas He embodied what “family” meant, we’re called to follow (*John 19:25-27). In view of such an unfathomable adoption afforded us, can we take another by the hand to ensure they know it’s our delight in their being our family, transcendent to this holiday season?

Today’s Thought “I’m Gonna…” G. Ward James 4:14 “Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” While I saved messages from those I loved, now departed, I’m finding that those references have been unnecessary; because our Sufficient Maker blessed us with memory and whereas their voices remain readily perceived, along with visuals unrelenting, I’m thankful to our Creator for such an expansive heart that loves unconditionally. Many of those departed embodied such vivaciousness in their beings that hope in growing older together overshadowed actuality. This is not to say that our intellectual capacity refuses acceptance of such, but the practicality of faith thereunto wavers and is a sad contemplation. I’m training however, each day; particularly as my study of what’s most important (i.e., God’s Word) reveals a guarantee of departure and my conscious yet delights in remembrance, so as to make most of moments unto others, certain of a journey pathed by a Savior who established an eternity with HIM, although none have been good enough (Ro.5:8).

Today’s Thought “Standing or Seated for the Anthem” G. Ward Jeremiah 29 7 Seek the prosperity of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD in its behalf; for in its prosperity will be your prosperity.’ 8 For this is what the LORD of armies, the God of Israel says: ‘Do not let your prophets who are in your midst or your diviners deceive you, and do not listen to their interpretations of your dreams which you dream. While prophets of old wouldn’t be established on popularity, or determine activism on issues of social unrest and oppression from a land and people, their messaging of contingency would often grant hope and whereas a people listened, they would often fail to hear on terms from the sayer. This audience pertinent to the prophet’s demand were captivated by a strange people, in a land not their own. We’re now exposed to a few spokesmen also determining the brevity of life should be perceived for every man/inhabitant of this strange land and being urged to acknowledge governance from the only KING of every parcel in earth and whereas many adjourn to Jeremiah’s message for hope found in vs. 29 (“For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”), understanding the message through proper insight, that won’t extract from one’s own determination, may need to know that those inhabitants Jeremiah would admonish, wouldn’t inherit this earthly actuality (*although they would be guided in merciful, heavenly care while there), because its unfolding was 70 years later and whereas our deliverance can be now (even while we’re in exile – Ro.10:9), that land some will inherit won’t need prayer.

Today’s Thought “Your Hometown” G. Ward Micah 5: 2 “But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will come forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His times of coming forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity.” Over the years given me and very particularly living in the Metro Atlanta region among every people group under the sun, I find it incredibly intriguing to unfold where those I’ve encountered were birthed and whereas quite a large percentage of the many interrogated originate from other regions; for clarity’s sake, many have delineated their hometown in proximity to its closest major city, or boast of its famous native son. While we all must originate from somewhere, the where we’re from shouldn’t overshadow who we are (cf. Pr.22:1), nor bolster the land of origin as superior than the perceived less. Micah was given a prophecy concerning the smallness of the birthplace of Christ. What it won’t reveal here is King David was also birthed there. Our Lord seeks to invite us onto an anticipation of a land most sufficient, with no division, where the glory of the King shines from everlasting and the banner we’ll bare remains Holy God and His Truth forever (Ps.60:4): Let’s all aspire to live there – our ultimate Home. *We must remember however, the key that unlocks the door remains your confession of sin’s captivity through repentance unto its Native Son, making HIM Lord now (Owner of your life) while in a strange land.

Today’s Thought “Bought with A Price?” G. Ward Matthew 16 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. The church is in the news again. Evangelicals spectacularly flaunt their political opinions on a society just needing the Savior unto righteousness (i.e., His Sovereignty and Omnipotence) and now New Birth Missionary Baptist Church is with an unfortunate consideration to grow cannabis on their expansive properties and whereas Peter would be asked by such a Wonderful Savior as to who the populous thought He was and whereby Peter answered correctly when challenged (personally) by our Lord, answering from the depths of his soul, even confessing Christ as more than anything/enough (particularly in view of Him having made man and every content therein - John 1:1-3,14). Teaching any to obey the commands of our Lord remains the requirement for any to know Christ as Lord (Matt.28:19), not fabulous programming, good singing, preaching and most assuredly won’t be known for a harvest unsanctioned (No matter what the people say!). Blaming bad leaders for such ideology won’t ever be an acceptable defense mechanism for reluctance to absolutely belong to HIM who is Perfect. YOU better run to the Only Shelter unadulterated and stop choosing a church based on preferences and determine your confession of Christ remains the question for each day (*2 Pe.3:8-10).

Today’s Thought “Voting Protects Our Future?” G. Ward Matthew 9 36 Seeing the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and downcast, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then He *said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore, plead with the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” The Apostle Paul sought to encourage believers while living amidst streets filled with prostitutes, spirit mediums, extortionists, religionists pervading to know God while heaping rigid rules on others, but failing to exist in similar coding. Peter and James sought to comfort believers who were chased from every hamlet as their insistence of Christ as more than enough would be mocked, that would even cost them their lives. John, the final apostle, would witness all assigned personally by Jesus Christ to His words for distribution onto any, killed for their faith while innocent and then he would be banished to a criminal island (entirely dangerous) to fend for himself as a very old man, still commissioned by Holy God to write on HIS behalf to the church. Then and most important, our Jesus, having walked among men so illicit, seating Himself with prostitutes and tax collectors (i.e., extortionists), presenting messaging of eternality, even allowing His betrayer a merciful presence until his work would culminate as proposed. We now exist either humiliated or happy, because our candidate was either denied or elected, with a blasphemous exchange that insisted our candidate will protect/guard rights for its citizenry; ensuring hope for our grandchildren; insisting with chants of take us back when the moral climate (in this strange land) was better. Did the criminal element here ever witness such? Was morality really something to behold? Have you not read? Did you not see? Does God want us so involved as HE depends on the electorate for such a guard? Our mouths say we have faith in God/ I trust HIM, while failing miserably in a basic tenet given man – HIS SUPREMACY was meant to govern those HE made. There never was guarantee of exemption of troubles of sorts and absolutely no euphoria in political ideologies, but HIS Holy abiding unto us keeps loving, providing and forgiving, despite us, but soon will be over (*2 Pe.3:8-10).

Today’s Thought “Highest Intelligence” G. Ward Ecclesiastes 3 14 I know that everything God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it. And God has so worked, that people will fear Him. Georgia awaits a cure from a political process wherewith its citizenry has been taught to absolutely abhor every opponent, even establishing a permanent marker that hates those with philosophical difference and while some will pervade, “No Gregory, this also includes moral implications (cf. 1 John 2:15-17),” to that unfortunate statement, I’d remind any of a bumper sticker entirely violating that says, “God is my co-pilot” as if to say HE needs our assistance to fly the planes of our development (vv.10-13)? Instead, we need the Lord! Moreover, Holy God alone imposes governmental leadership unto those HE made (Ro.13:1-7), both good and bad and whereas we were never compelled to hate Hitler (Eph.6:12), trust in our Creator remains precedent. People need the Lord and the lethargy found in those who say they believe and won’t share HIM, is the disconnect, pervading injustice and improprieties of sorts.

Today’s Thought “Who’s Loving You?” G. Ward Matthew 5 44 But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may prove yourselves to be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Although mercy reigns sufficiently unto every man from the ONE whose Name is Love, many who worshipped HIM on yesterday will be unavailable to the less fortunate on today, sharing this actuality to my kinfolk. They’re experts in church polity and praise; even with castigations of those deemed “outsiders” (i.e., those who just won’t do right) and whereas there’s echoes of hatred towards certain individuals, the proposed righteous utterly reject that wording, while participatory in actions. Periodically, they’ve been accepting to being advised to go out among them; patting their heads, with gleaming smiles (seemingly altruistic), while serving them food and clothing to forget the Savior ATE with those HE fed and whereas the hygiene and appearance of the under-served lack in fragrant effervescence (Just go get your dictionary and keep reading!), what they (the perceived righteous) fail to realize is those same being served were perhaps just like them at one time or another (*1 Cor.6:9-11).

Friday, December 2, 2022

Today’s Thought “Study: A Forgotten Phenomenon” G. Ward Matthew 6 8 So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. While many gather in the Name of the Lord feeling a need to exhibit something spiritual, how about best consideration of availability to His demand; even that to which is individually pursued when absolutely no one is around? Interestingly, Jesus’ discourse (chs., Matt.5-7) remains the ground work for the entire New Testament; embodying tremendous warning in external religion vs. living holy and whereas praying improperly was the subject to our theme utilized, an unfortunate perpetuating in the same yet exists for our modernity. Reverence from us is the demand. Lengthy praying without allowance of HIS Word is the violation. Praying in the Spirit does not refer to the words we are saying. Rather, it refers to how we are praying (i.e., according to His Word). His speaking to us, is supremely more than what we’ll ever say to Him. “Do not be quick with your mouth or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter in the presence of God. For God is in heaven and you are on the earth; therefore, let your words be few (Eccles.5:2).”

Thursday, December 1, 2022

Today’s Thought “The Blame Game” G. Ward 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Holy God is; All Powerful, Maker and Sustainer of the universe, All Knowing and Everywhere at all times; not the Devil. Believers understand this more as each day is presented, building greater trust of His governance. The Devil offers deception, primarily through systems (2 Cor.4:4), because he can’t be everywhere and the Savior defeated him at Calvary. He yet mocks God, particularly in view of the Almighty’s generosity unto man; knowing mankind’s rebellion won’t identify the Gift as complete, even arrogantly covetous of things and conditions from others (2 Cor.5:7); ultimately perpetuating deception penetrated, doing the Devil’s work. He therefore is without consideration in attacking (personally), particularly when many awaken to God’s Word with a similitude of a self-help book to only find those passages deemed motivational, discounting sermons and teaching forums embodying eternality and many awaken on worship occasions allowing others to see spiritual lethargy/mediocrity, as they determine a headache’s stoppage from attending, to then grow older with chants of perplexity that questions “I don’t know why these children won’t go to church, I raised them in it?”

Wednesday, November 30, 2022

Today’s Thought “Don’t Speak That?” G. Ward Ecclesiastes 7 2 It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, because that is the end of every person, and the living takes it to heart. Jane Fonda is said to be preparing for death in view of her cancer status in a recent article; it furthered that she’s “at peace with herself.” Many religionists have pervaded a thought that mankind (by faith) is with ability to thwart sickness, even death, because of what perceivably God said (2 Ti.4:2-4), discounting our grandparent’s faith, as if to say this generation is deserving of such “new” spiritual discernment because we’re more adept unto knowledge (Ro.2:11) and whereas my generation and before marveled at how only Holy God spoke things into existence, knowing our selfish desire wouldn’t first look to the interests of others (as our Savior exemplified), particularly if given the same (cf. Phil.2:2-7), maintains All Authority in doing so (i.e., His Sovereignty). Perhaps we’ve not been given such a grim diagnosis (as Jane Fonda’s), but our preparation must maintain expedience onto every man’s reality (*faith in Christ is solely on His terms, worthy of pursuit). Could earth’s end be yours today (John 14:1-3)?

Tuesday, November 29, 2022

Today’s Thought “A Perfect World, An Imperfect People” G. Ward Genesis 9 18 Now the sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth; and Ham was the father of Canaan. 19 These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the whole earth was populated. Even before the fallenness from mankind to the flood destroying man, people were without racial category. Thereafter, the Jewish nation would be used solely to catapult other nations unto His Sovereignty (*Isa.49:6, John 3:16). Those centuries of man and every century thereafter witnessed sectarian posture never intended; including ideas entirely antithetical of Holy God’s Way, even delineating some racial portions of man as uncouth and lacking intelligence (cf. Ro.2:11-16). Believing in HIM adjusts to HIS Way (Luke 6:46), realizing this as inextricable of what it means to have faith. If any are plagued with a conscience seared in divisiveness, the only cure fills it with Truth (John 14:6).

Today’s Thought “Struggle on Sunday Morning?” G. Ward Acts 17 24 The God who made the world and everything that is in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made by hands; 25 nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things. While by-products in food may not be the best to ingest, the by-product of faith in Christ will witness some with a spiritual healthiness that prepares each day onto a diminishing of natural tendencies that identifies with self-will over God’s intent and He’s able to govern those He made (cf. Ro.10:13).

Today’s Thought “Pray Before and While Shopping” G. Ward ! Timothy 6 17 Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to set their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. 18 Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, 19 storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life. While Friday too is a day the Lord has made and we’re able to quote it, Heaven’s criterion remains that our declarations match our activity of belief. Whose money is it anyway (Psalm 24:1)?

Wednesday, November 23, 2022

Today’s Thought “Bending Improperly” G. Ward 2 Corinthians 6 17 Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE,” says the Lord. “AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN; and I will welcome you. A paradox can happen upon hearing the word compromise; it’s synonymous to our perceiving the expression, “it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness.” It can represent an attitude in congeniality and also can mean wrongful adjustment towards conditions and people. The latter, should be our avoidance and whereas we’re in the holiday zone, the prior must be the goal. We cannot be sons and daughters of the Most High to forget the endurance of the Savior that included the greatest example of perseverance above trials from mankind, through stooping low in entertaining degradations about others or us, that lends defense, or elaborations that confirm their thoughts. Both are opposite of Holy God’s demand (*vv.4-10) and when/if practiced, nullifies faith. We know of the dinner table talk, prepare accordingly (1 Thess.5:17) …

Monday, November 21, 2022

Today’s Thought “Houses Bombarded by Fragrant Cinnamon” G. Ward Psalm 23 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows. Some will begin today with a preparation for Thursday’s festivities and whereas homes are meticulously decorated, along with intricate, delicious containers of food prepared with unusual care, doing so because of anticipating friends and family desires a day of peace. There’s most certainly always one expected to present controversial matters entirely argumentative and while we hope the environment sought is hopeful in burgeoning peace, these cantankerous ones are with a wicked practice with a comparability of all your elaborate presentation and while it’s said that “hurt people, seek to hurt others,” we are opportune in mercy and can embody a spiritual reality in being impervious to all they’ll offer because our Great Shepherd has placed a Light within, for many without and when Love is our precedent, all will be immeasurably astounded as their attitude acclimates to the beauty of environment. Be sure to preface their arrival with tremendous prayer…

Today’s Thought “Chores Forsaken” G. Ward Luke 5 15 But the news about Him was spreading even farther, and large crowds were gathering to hear Him and to be healed of their sicknesses. 16 But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray. I’m so thankful for having come from a generation where daily chores were without contemplation. Moreover, before expressions that anticipated a great, exciting weekend would enter the mind of man, were Saturday chores for every member of the house (No Exceptions!). What was seemingly a harsh life (as any would seek to explain this actuality to young people now), allowed no one then such thoughts, because HABIT was established; comparable to brushing one’s teeth. Altogether, these chores and their directors adopted what had been given them, instrumental in governing one’s every endeavor and more than likely emanated from the Savior’s example. He would endeavor a calling to fulfill from His Director, praying through every motioning (Mark 1:35), so as to witness those who’d listen, to surrender their lives unto spiritual governance. If chores are violated, rooms are messy and ultimately can become too magnanimous to tackle, causing one to step over vital actualities onto life’s uncertainties…

Today’s Thought “A Chaotic Church” G. Ward 2 Corinthians 4 3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they will not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants on account of Jesus. A great debate is with a central tenet to argue and a winner is declared when he is able to defend his stance with utter conviction, persuading others unto a proposed reality. When/if a spiritual leader enjoins himself to additional theorizing, even that to which violates the script given, along with great theatrics, sought as an entertainment device (that captivates tremendous interest from an audience), it furthers unbelief concerning the Truth of the script; because those same words provided, should persuade men that the Author of the manuscript is Supreme, not the orator.

Today’s Thought “If I Were King of the Forest!” G. Ward Luke 12 4 “Now I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do.” While no one desires to be shunned with disdain from some regarding a perspective of vitality, even that doubts your significance/usefulness in anything, maintaining a courage onto personal and deepest conviction is necessary and whereas similar opinion may appear useful for presentation, subject matter must be weighed against the eternal script given man to follow; otherwise, silence may be a prudent pursuit. Vain philosophy is not allowed for believers in Christ as Lord. Our conveyances must echo Heaven’s sentiment and time remains short; so, immediate compliance determines whether there’s trust of the Lord’s Way or mine…

Today’s Thought “When It’s All Over?” G. Ward Romans 13:11 “Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.” Conversations that share life will soon be over are mostly perceived when grim prognosis is given and whereas grief is often an immediate accompaniment, opportunity in realizing there’s a spiritual commitment from Heaven that gives any, reconciliation from doubting an eternity with Holy God (Ro.5:6-10). The many eulogies witnessed, expressive of great citizenry are indeed comforting unto those remaining but fail to qualify any for an eternity where troubles will cease (Ro.3:10); instead, an urgency onto a spiritual inoculation of assurance EXISTS NOW and refusal for such a cure guarantees death (cf. Luke 6:46-49).

Today’s Thought “Travelling Mercies” G. Ward Acts 7 54 “Now when they heard this, they were infuriated, and they began gnashing their teeth at him. 55 But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.” Praise for Holy God’s eternal presence allowed Stephen’s narrative to flow while those entirely oppositional to Christ would hear. How many know those without good listening skills hear with partial understanding, because they’re often with a pre-meditative, argumentative attitude? Altogether, these possessing attitudes of contentiousness must never become opportunity for any believing in unadulterated Truth to determine these as hopeless; particularly in view of these oppositional forces that stoned Stephen to death for telling the Truth, having laid their outer coats at the feet of their superior officer, who apparently sanctioned this killing (v.58) to later become an Apostle to the same Christ he betrayed.

Today’s Thought “Big House and Many Rooms” G. Ward Matthew 13 33 Another parable He spoke to them: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened.” Jesus spoke in parables because the Word of God is only discerned onto His church (1 Cor.2:14). Orators of sorts have sought audiences to pervade upon their great storylines that emanate from sections of God’s Word to not understand/distort the congruence of 66 books; failing at seeing the complete scope, so entirely unfathomable; in that ONE could absolutely pay for the sins of mankind, granting them perfect guidance in earth and guaranteeing eternal life in perfect peace thereafter and whereas our humanity is accustomed to offering something in exchange from such riches so lavishly provided, our works won’t do, for it’s done. We are however, responsible when we give another, perceived unworthy, this message of hope that truly impacts our lives more favorably now, in that the brotherhood meant for man increases and then to know, Heaven has room.

Today’s Thought “Another Bentley and More Controversy” G. Ward Romans 16:17 “I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them.” This letter, meant for the church didn’t mean to avoid those seemingly persuasive with hints of wrongful attitude, but consideration of spiritual growth that counters inaccuracies concerning that to which remains foundational (2 Ti.4:2). Subtle, religious nuances are being introduced almost daily, while absolutely subverting Truth and capitalizing on the many saying they know Christ, while failing at fellowship with HIM that leads their lives (Luke 6:46). Those vulnerable to the wicked devices of man (that includes vain philosophies), are exhausted with an unavailability from the church. Those who say they belong have nothing to give, but an attitude to take; even with echoes of deserving more because their rhetoric sounds super religious, to never identify with a key component to being owned by this Matchless Savior – HUMILITY. Instead, believers are called to mimic this Savior and He sought only their deliverance that included murderers, liars, those pervading false religion and many deemed hopeless by societal standards and whereas the message given is ours to portray, many are mostly at child’s play status that insists in order to join my club, you must do as I say, keeping quests onto nowhere, chaotic.

Today’s Thought “Granny’s Beetle; Cecil” G. Ward Deuteronomy 18:10-12 10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, a soothsayer, one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who consults the dead. 12 For whoever does these things is detestable to the LORD; and because of these detestable things the LORD your God is going to drive them out before you. Many ascribed to one of the greatest shows of television’s past, The Beverly Hillbillies. Granny carried her live beetle in a matchbox, demanding all know he predicted the weather and nothing could sway her belief. The 70’s embraced Mood Rings, allowing any to determine their mental status. The ring would turn a different color to determine that status. Most understood these as fads acceptable to the era. We’re now with a movement of spiritual implications that insists wearing, or even placing Chakra Crystals on one’s body has healing power, along with thwarting bad energies. Chakras emanate from early Indian tradition. It means wheel or circle; indicative of seven centers spinning discs at each energy node. Crystals are merely jewels (diamonds, sapphire, jade, etc.) and although the Bible speaks with many inferences to these crystals, the Word of God NEVER sanctions any powers from them. Amazingly, these times are evolving from intelligence of old onto believing this generation has answers to issues that have existed for thousands of years (cf. Jer. 17:9), that includes sickness, death, sufferings, oppression from systems and people and whereas this actuality was imposed by the Almighty unto mankind that keeps us dependent on Him, these superstitious behaviors (entirely idolatrous) reveal denial in being owned by this Marvelous Savior. Holy God is Provider and remains Sufficient to do so. This in no way precludes God is anti-science as some suppose. From the beginning, He gave man dominion and that authority introduced an exploration, granting ecological, medicinal and technological advancement, making our lives better. False sciences pervade wrongful theorizing; causing dissentions and the practice thereunto nullifies the Blessed Hope intended; so, take up your rabbit’s foot if you’d like, but it certainly wasn’t lucky for him.

Today’s Thought “Presents Under the Tree” G. Ward 1 Corinthians 16 13 Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 14 All that you do must be done in love. Missionaries in Christ are/and have been needed more than great orators. It’s this actuality that we see throughout Holy God’s Word; they were called without mysticism, even understanding this calling would encompass added duties and more difficult challenges, without favorability from man (Read that paragraph again, comparing it to what has become common for our era.). Maturity, unto receptivity from these vessels was the spiritual mandate. Their discourses only sought to rescue the perishing, along with encouraging disciples who would altogether glorify the Almighty. It was this goal that defined their purpose and what Christ mandated after HE would pay the price for the sins of mankind and whereas the quest acceptable for this generation that asks for additional marching orders nullifies Truth (very particularly that lines up to one’s own abilities – HE is called the Almighty, because “apart from HIM, you can do nothing!”).

Today’s Thought “Fear Mongering” G. Ward 1 Samuel 8 4 Finally, all the elders of Israel met at Ramah to discuss the matter with Samuel. 5 “Look,” they told him, “you are now old, and your sons are not like you. Give us a king to judge us like all the other nations have.” While America awaits tomorrow’s electoral process to culminate with a similitude in waiting for a lottery to declare they’re a winner (cf. Matt.6:34), it will reveal a hope unsanctioned along with an impertinence to eternal significance. Instead, our Creator’s delight is that His highest creation (mankind) would recognize the unfathomable riches in HIM; a peace and love whereby the total price has been paid. Many of us have been privileged with celebration of candidates desired, along with days where fiscal worries were few and whereas the highs and lows of it all remains uncertain and wavering, there’s a greater capillary worth finding called contentment; a spiritual achievement for any who will place their trust in Christ, asking His transforming power to inhabit their entire being. Real joy is on its way when consideration in being owned by a Caregiver (of everlasting to everlasting) who won’t slumber, knowing what you need before your contemplations say so and unrelenting with providing that (cf.*John 12:35-43).

Today’s Thought “Won’t It Be Grand?” G. Ward Revelation 5 9 And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are You to take the scroll and to break its seals; for You were slaughtered, and You purchased people for God with Your blood from every tribe, language, people, and nation.” When I was a child, I absolutely suggested to most my hatred for slower songs; desiring others upbeat. The truth however went privatized, because I actually ascribed to both, even celebrating many genres; indicating mood swings (perhaps early psychosis?). I still enjoy music, but my greatest song is now meditative (cf. Ps.118:24); particularly as I contemplate being included in the Lamb of God’s plan before the foundation of the world. Moreover, and as I’ve been privileged to visit other nations where language barriers and cultural differences exist, to witness their adoption unto spiritual unity proposed by the Holy One, understood every ideology and genre won’t matter when eternity becomes our actuality and whereas disparities that leads to wrongful category, even suggesting some as inferior, will ultimately reveal an eternal celebration of the relationship that guided their lives, along with allowing their sins to be forgiven. There’s Room…

Today’s Thought “Class Dismissed” G. Ward Luke 23 33 And when they came to the place called The Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left. 34 [But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.”] And they cast lots, dividing His garments among themselves. Jesus Christ remains supremely exemplary as King of kings. He chose to give Himself unto incessant degradation, including plots that sought to kill Him. He is regarded as Incarnate because it’s a title none other can claim; mandating that any recognizing the Almighty, MUST preeminently do so through all He exemplified; HE is LORD (*John 1:1-3,14). We’re now amidst exacerbations that misappropriate His directives and substantiates our faith as authentic (or not). Knowing HIM, obeys what He says (1 John 5:3). Therefore, we cannot insist on removing pessimistic people from our lives, when called to them by this Wonderful Savior (for His Glory). We are/have been these negative souls and He promised to never leave us (despite us). While straining to find those who can lend a happy journey to each day presented (indicative of child’s play), joy is forsaken as it will always accompany peace, with mercy and love, particularly when I contemplate the same provided me (while I was profoundly erroneous – Ro.5:8). Will my prayers imitate HIS (vs.34)?

Today’s Thought “Vulnerable; On Rhetoric Avenue” G. Ward 1 Thessalonians 5: 22 “Abstain from every form of evil.” I must admit how disheartened I’ve been to witness believers, faithful in attendance to their local fellowship’s services, yet pervading utter vitriolic disdain for opposing political views; even saying God is on our side (*Isa.55:8-9). This nation is established on a system of “checks and balances,” diffusing wrongful possibility of ultimate power exercised and whereas campaigns from every side pervade promises, even saying “trust me to do it,” while devaluing your knowledge of hundreds of legislators with personal argument and agenda, insisting “by the people, for the people” stance, needs your interrogation. There’s shamefully an implicit trust given these politicians with a similitude only deserving to the All-Wise Savior and while some say, “that’s just not true,” expressions at a constant reveals the heart (Matt.6:21). Pulpits have exacerbated this idolatrous behavior in signifying proposed responsibility for certain candidates. IS THE LORD NOT ENOUGH?

Today’s Thought “A PRESENT Help?” G. Ward 2 Corinthians 5:13 If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit. 14 Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. 15 He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. A most prolific author (Charles Dickens, 1812-1870) wrote a novel A Tale of Two Cities, that ultimately surmises that things are not what they seem. I believe it’s primarily due to perspectives that are ever evolving (i.e., out with the old and in with the new mentality). Sufferings of sorts, life’s truest accompaniment remains plenteous enough without efforts in re-inventing more mantras entirely argumentative; but as for believers, the struggle within is lessened and frequently extinguished when we insist on Perfect to lead and guide (*John 15:5).

Today’s Thought “Gang Warfare” G. Ward Acts 17: 5 But the Jews, becoming jealous and taking along some wicked men from the marketplace, formed a mob and set the city in an uproar; and they attacked the house of Jason and were seeking to bring them out to the people. 6 When they did not find them, they began dragging Jason and some brothers before the city authorities, shouting, “These men who have upset the world have come here also!” Intolerance can be both good and bad, but should never be determined by a predominant thought. Our arrival in earth was determined before our parents thought they made us; nothing happens unless the Almighty says so. Therefore, and because He’s our Maker, revealing “the plan” for every life, other objectives/perspectives lack foundation, unworthy of pursuit. More perspectives will soon deliver contention and divisiveness, even violence. While the world identifies a posture that sanctions agreeing to disagree, our Lord left His peace that disagreements wouldn’t matter (Eph.6:12).

Today’s Thought “My Easter Speech” G. Ward John 16:13 “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” I’d love to infer to not being the “old folks” many see coming to then exit stage left, but I’m overwhelmed with great experiences (seemingly) worthy to share, along with gratitude for the many responsible for few moments I’ve had in exemplary living. There were however, some sayings given our generation absolutely not true and one unfortunately crept into these times that says, “if you open your mouth, God will speak for you.” This was the encouragement (primarily) unto those of us somewhat shy and whereas it sounded good, many of us failed to trust that, but there were our parents looking on with visual threats embracing a common expression, “I brought you in this world and I’ll take you out,” so we did our best in every oratorical endeavor. In the Spirit realm, I’ve learned how necessary it is to rehearse information ingested that alleviates embarrassment (Ps.1:1-3) and now understand, if there’s failure to practice statements of conviction, we’ll never persuade men towards implicit trust of our Lord; even furthering perpetuated doubt in some that criticizes believers’ reliance on their spiritual leader versus their Maker.

Today’s Thought “I Believe I Can Fly?” G. Ward Jeremiah 13 10 This wicked people, who refuse to listen to My words, who walk in the stubbornness of their hearts and have followed other gods to serve them and to bow down to them, let them be just like this undergarment which is completely useless. The Word of God speaks to us about soaring like an eagle, but never sought imposing a cliff to jump from (Matt.4:5-7) and whereas mankind was created for God’s glory and can move towards a reliance that demands “you have a brain, now go use it,” will witness incessant dissatisfaction until he concedes Jesus is more than enough. As Jeremiah would be used as God’s instrument and obeyed despite not knowing what it meant initially (illustrative of the aforementioned – pride), we all will understand it when the eyes of this natural man close unto a brain disquieted by inability to open them; perfect submission now, equals perfect delight (cf. *Ezek.33:30-33).

Today’s Thought “Fair Weather Friend?” G. Ward Psalm 103 17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting for those who fear Him and His justice to the children’s children, 18 To those who keep His covenant and remember His precepts, so as to do them. Conjoined twins are absolutely incredible to view for our times. Many from my generation were with one visual inference from the Guinness Book of World Records having made famous two Chinese-American men who were conjoined twins (Chang Bunker and Eng Bunker, May 11, 1811 – January 17, 1874). We would absolutely marvel in thought as to their daily functionalities as inseparable. I yet marvel, but from a spiritual corollary of undeniable interdependence that remained irreversible for these two, while given us through the great phenomena in what only Holy God can do - Create mankind. Old folks would tell us, “God don’t make mistakes” and His desire for the whole of man is that he would never move away from God control, but that ALL his steps would arrive from greatest consultation from the throne where All-Wisdom flows and that actuality won’t die (cf.*Phil.2:10-11).

Today’s Thought “Militance, Inside the Establishment” G. Ward Judges 21:25 “In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” While governance for every sector of the world is important, doing what is right must be the aim of every believer, even with leadership could be morally deficient. Moreover, to wait on a legislative process to institute in doing so, will/can ultimately invite regret, placing its victim in dire straits (perhaps body and soul, cf. Matt.10:28). Our best governance is from the Lord; going beyond good and bad leadership and those commands won’t disappoint, while containing the highest demand transcendent to every man-made document written; granting peace for the practitioner. Let’s be reminded on each day granted, that those outside of spiritual governance are doing the best they can unto what’s been given them and while we insist they should know better and whereas the Word of God is spiritually discerned unto those who absolutely trust HIS directives, we have been called to present a concise explanation of this timeless Truth (Ro.10:14). Only then can a predominant thought seemingly acceptable be extinguished for a life meant to honor Holy God.

Today’s Thought “Early Voting” G. Ward Romans 13 2 Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. Holy God’s plans won’t be thwarted by any deciding to awaken (seemingly on their own volition) to make a difference in the world. His presentation upon creating the earth, along with mankind, knew from the very beginning that to which would transpire for our days along with every man beforehand. He’s regarded as Omniscient (All-Knowing, sovereignly so), even making man higher than all of creation, but never considerate of us as an independent agency. Our composition is a greatest indicator of that actuality. Do you trust that? A definitive yes, won’t straddle between two opinions, particularly when one (ours), wavers onto a guessing game and hopeful (at best) regarding our decisions; without thoughts in how many distributions of miseries outweighed times when we seemingly got it right. To rejoice because a political candidate (favorable) was elected may be acceptable, but what remains unacceptable is an argumentative assessment of a choice rendered. If the Almighty is your Keeper, is HE sufficient to carry you through?

Today’s Thought “Forbidden Fruit?” G. Ward Daniel 4 34 “But at the end of that period, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever; for His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom endures from generation to generation. 35 All the inhabitants of the earth are of no account, but He does according to His will among the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of earth; and no one can fend off His hand or say to Him, ‘What have You done?’ King Nebuchadnezzar, considered the greatest king of the Babylonian Empire (605 BC – 592 BC), was a most brutal, ambitious ruler and directed by Holy God as an instrument of judgment for God’s own people (Israel) for its idolatry, unfaithfulness, and disobedience (Jeremiah 25:9). This king was regarded for his receptivity unto a plethora of gods, but would inevitably be overwhelmed in belief in ONE Creator, the Most High. This stance from Nebuchadnezzar wasn’t exempt from great rebellion; he would embattle with an egocentric, even narcissistic mentality, to be reduced and soon thereafter referred to by God as “My servant.” It’s given us to perceive that we may know God’s way won’t be thwarted. He’ll use who He desires, even in these political times (*To oppose HIS selection, brings condemnation unto you. cf. *Ro.13:1-3). Moreover, it confirms His desire; that any can come to Him through repentance and because HE is Love, we’re compelled towards always believing and to hope through endurance (1 Cor.13:4-7) …

Today’s Thought “Jump to It!” G. Ward 2 Peter 3 17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unscrupulous people and lose your own firm commitment, 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. Parents of old would encourage their children onto independent thought through an unwelcomed approach; while even discouraging their kids from following the crowd. The cynicism utilized by our parents was degrading (seemingly then), pervading questions entirely rhetorical that said if John Doe did something foolishly dangerous, would we too follow? We were taught biblical principles (without quoting verses), because our parents were taught the same and this regurgitated process was not initially appreciated, to now exist in an era where old, foundational values have been eclipsed by new, vain philosophies by moment’s greatest orators (*cf.1 Cor.3:10-13). I’d rather have Jesus…

Today’s Thought “More Than Words Can Say” G. Ward Lamentations 3:37 “Who is there who speaks and it comes to pass, Unless the Lord has commanded it?” If any could step back in time where technological advancement for that era is now contained in museums, along with some its citizenry with daily implications in oppression of sorts, we’d be surprised at their resilience. While complaint for those times existed, many would understand “the Lord would make a way.” They would seek to pass that mantra onto generations thereafter, but technological advantages became the misappropriation accepted as being blessed beyond their predecessors. Moreover, their morality diminished greatly due to their forgetfulness in where blessings flow; even to think of Holy God as similar to modern thought. So, their mouths began to echo rights solely belonging to the Creator and the saga continues…

Today’s Thought “Senior Living” G. Ward 2 Corinthians 4:16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. Family values are said to have diminished and I believe it’s because life now depends (superficially) more on ingenuity than investigative prudence. Generations prior had to rely on the encyclopedia for facts that extinguished uncertainties of sorts and whereas we now have search engines on our electronic gadgetry, first responses have become the resolute consideration. Frustration becomes rampant throughout our society, even lending great violence, along with hospitality as over-rated as many hurry onto chaos and while there remains a “few” who desire awakening to a meditative process so as to avoid a tedious recapitulation, even very costly unto their physical capabilities, consultation with the Most High is preferred, while embracing their reality and longing to be with HIM (eternally), perceiving it shall be soon.

Today’s Thought “Perfect Soup” G. Ward Psalm 103 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him. Proclaiming the Lord’s goodness is mostly thought of as words expressive in gratefulness for His looking beyond our faults and whereas He enabled the one-time sacrifice Christ provided as the Sufficient reprieve from a captivity ever encompassing, those same pardoned would do well in rendering best obeisance unto His commands; for a life found doing so, exceeds verbiage saying so.

Today’s Thought “Always Believing” G. Ward Acts 7 59 They went on stoning Stephen as he called on the Lord and said, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!” 60 Then he fell on his knees and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” Having said this, he fell asleep. What we know is limited and the striving onto greatest knowledge generally won’t do so to enable others; but is often a self-centered venture and whereas a populous deems one pursuant to intellectual superiority as worthy of leadership, portions of people suffer in neglect, even potential persecution; warranting our (believers) compassion (“for such were some of us…”).

Today’s Thought “Your Gift Made Room for You!” G. Ward Romans 6: 20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in relation to righteousness. 21 Therefore what benefit were you then deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is death. 22 But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Willie Spence 23, a favorite of American Idol died on yesterday upon hitting a tractor-trailer in his automobile. Moments before that horrible accident he posted a great video with him singing sensationally. Many pause on such a note in sadness and shock, even with promulgations of “he was so young” (Job.14:1, 1 Pe.4:12-13). Our most difficult reality is departure; it carries great pain. Children’s hospitals are yet so full and their oncology wards are with waiting lists; re-introducing the brevity of life as indiscriminate. May our contemplations more reflect on miseries at a constant, while learning how to more lean on our Savior; so as to build on the Blessed Hope’s unrelenting care shown upon His dying and resurrection for our avoidance in demise; thanking Him for that matchless “gift” of grace (cf. Eph.2:8-9).

Today’s Thought “A Cure for Lethargy” G. Ward Psalm 77 11 I shall remember the deeds of the LORD; I will certainly remember Your wonders of old. 12 I will meditate on all Your work, and on Your deeds with thanksgiving. 13 Your way, God, is holy; What god is great like our God? There are many with a demand for vacation, but are bombarded with tremendous tasks of sorts disallowing a getaway. Municipal development now is with collegiate specialization that focuses on improvement desired for any city’s success unto its citizenry. Those credentialed professionals acquired become artists of sorts as creativity will soon witness city-scapes entirely beautiful; embracing walking and bike-riding trails among exotic trees, plants and flowers beautify its course. Many times, I’ve taken advantage of such opportunity for local getaway and it enabled my meditations gratefulness for our Lord’s provisions of people and things, along with how He brought me from what appeared to be an impossible matter onto spiritual reprieve. Moreover, tears have encompassed my being in recall of those having departed that lent an exemplary life so mine own would could aspire accordingly; for soon time will culminate away from earth and others of my encounters will soon be challenged in the same…

Today’s Thought “The Great Summation” G. Ward Isaiah 49:6 He says, “It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the protected ones of Israel; I will also make from You a light of the nations So that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth.” Declarations from a racially driven religious group lack prudence and are with demands of superiority, passionately felt among who they perceive are the real Jews of the Bible and whereas those same purveyors in superiority fail miserably while violating the banner of our Creator who made man without perceived constraint (i.e., racial priority), to demonstrate an inclusiveness of the heavenly mantra in mercy, “whosoever will let them come” (cf. Ge.9:18-19). Holy God’s intent was to produce a capillary in one nation so every nation could be blessed, demonstrating His glory, not arrogant cheerleading pervading “we’re the best” (Ro.2:11)!

Today’s Thought “Expository Teaching” G. Ward Revelation 22:18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. I’m always encouraged to hear God’s Word as it exists; no fluff, but that to which establishes my walk, even when it’s against me. There is however more spokesman for God with elaborations that solely state great things are on its way, issued by Heaven regardless of sin (*Ps.119:1-4). Moreover, they’re with promises of things and conditions, discounting the whole world’s ability in claimants similar; particularly with a great portion of earth’s citizenry just needing clean drinking water and food. This affront is dangerous, while predominant a message for these times and subtract from an introspection that sees God as Holy, then follows accordingly. You’ll know every message of God as prudent when it speaks entirely transcendent of riches or poverty, Black, White, Yellow, Brown and Red. The common denominator for every man is a need for a Savior and He’s available to any (Ro.10:13), but approaching Him so very irreverently for the immediacy of things and people’s change, won’t move His response. He showed the way onto prosperity and stuff remains life’s poorest substitute (cf. Ps.1:1-3).

Today’s Thought “Bewitched” G. Ward Proverbs 4 5 Acquire wisdom! Acquire understanding! Do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth. 6 Do not abandon her, and she will guard you; Love her, and she will watch over you. What happens when education is the mantra unto a child’s progression (cf. Deut.6:4-7)? Here’s what’s likely: That child may very well occupy (through great discipline) a fabulous career, living in a golf, tennis and swim community, maintain great savings and retirement income, marry and promote education furthered with their own children. This potential reality however presumes on life continued for any pursuant to greatness (*Jas.4:13-14). While that same discipline can witness kindness with generosity from one found in this professional realm, could the spiritual foundation go lacking? Could the same child, now an adult have attended worship services, received Bible Drill awards as an accompaniment to their professional accolades, while forgetting the wisdom spoken of (aforementioned) speaks to foremost recognition of Holy God as direction for the life HE gave and how knowing Him won’t graduate AWAY from that. When we die in professional fortitude with very little to no recognition for His leading while in earth, there won’t be eternal rest; so “What’s It All About, (Alfie)?”

Today’s Thought “Wearing White After Labor Day” G. Ward Luke 23 39 One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, “Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!” 40 But the other responded, and rebuking him, said, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our crimes; but this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” Dire moments call for immediate reprieve, but when absolutely none appears within grasp, the reality of misery builds. Many take snapshots demanding from those impacted miserably, as if to say one should have known better; even forgetting their time when someone threw them a lifeline and whereas the Compassionate Savior illustrated what it means to love (without condition), mankind insists on deeming some hopeless. When mercy was shown, but fails in distribution, mercies furthered becomes questionable (*Jas.2:13).

Today’s Thought “A Carnival Mirror” G. Ward Psalm 119:1-3 Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the Law of the LORD. 2 Blessed are those who comply with His testimonies, and seek Him with all their heart. 3 They also do no injustice; They walk in His ways. As a canvas portrays a painting regarded an abstract, viewers seek to interpret what it might be, but the Painter knows. Our position in earth is often equally indifferent to our Maker’s intent; even portraying arrogance as we view others’ malfeasance of their personal artwork from the Master, who like you struggle to define whose they are, along with proper function (*Jer.17:9). Claimants of being “Blessed” must maintain color within the lines drawn and cease to soak up the ugly tapestry of the world. Moreover, one’s meditations must encompass Holy God is loving His creation everywhere, not just in this land flowing with milk and honey; so squash believing these blessings are things seen or touched.

Today’s Thought “Sticks and Stones…” G. Ward 2 Corinthians 3:5-6 Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, but our adequacy is from God, 6 who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. False teachers in this first century pervaded letters to authenticate their religious authority and altogether imposed these un-sanctioned certificates while questioning others and soon the lot would fall on the Apostle Paul to defend himself. Paul would ask those of his previous encounters to remember his words only sought to highlight Christ sufficiency, never his own. Character’s truest definition remains seen and unseen behavior. Therefore, to say you know HIM (Christ), talks and walks as HE did (*1 Pe.2:21-24).

Today’s Thought “Open Ended?” G. Ward 1 Corinthians 2 14 But a natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But the one who is spiritual discerns all things, yet he himself is discerned by no one. 16 For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ. Re-constructing a nation’s original intent must consult with its founders to absolutely gain truest understanding and because of their demise long ago, along with limited prose, interpretive challenges continue, remaining argumentative among its citizenry (where perspectives are ever-evolving). The Word of God is not privy to a subjectiveness from man (in any era); because its Author lives and maintains an all-inclusive objective (2 Pe.3:9), and loves indiscriminately, while never competing with another manuscript; because HIS is inerrant. Unfortunately, every generation witnessed intellectual giants of sorts that sought gathering the masses unto shameful nuance of a perfect, timeless recording (i.e., “Out with the old, in with the new” mentality.) and the liberty taken from some are with a dire consequence; making co-authoring the greatest manuscript of reconciliation blasphemous…

Today’s Thought “Research; With a Cure In Mind” G. Ward Revelation 1 14 His head and His hair were white like white wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire. 15 His feet were like burnished bronze when it has been heated to a glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters. As it’s inconceivable for this current generation of men to perceive the pervasiveness of measles and mumps and can be likened to prior generations’ empathetic view with the Bubonic Plague and while all these diseases are virtually extinct, most are thankful unto the many scientists’ effort allowing such. There remains an unfortunate disease called de-contextualization of God’s Word that absolutely kills (*Matt.24:35) and whereas our theme on today seeks to establish the brilliance shown man upon the presence of the Lord, along with HIS in-depth view of the church, then divine judgment with those refusing HIM as Lord; many have now reduced this spectacular phenomenon to make it relative to our Lord as a Black man. More than perception, exists the actuality from our Creator having made mankind without social delineation (*Ge.9:19). While it’s shameful to experience the kind of racial divide after centuries in/with the availability of the Truth of God’s Word, many insist on being inoculated with incessant vials of ignorance (cf. Ro.10:14) …

Today’s Thought “Ever Believing, Ever Hopeful” G. Ward Acts 20:35 In everything I showed you that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” The Apostle Paul’s work involved tremendous sharing of Truth in many provinces, which lends affirmation to Christ’s mandate of “go and make disciples of all the nations.” He (Paul) would inform disciples of a divinely imposed knowledge given as he would minister in these cities that insisted, “chains and afflictions await me” encouraging both disciples and pastors of their dutiful response with the greatest message of reconciliation. Love for God’s created ones was the objective and unlike the current trend (exercised from some modern-day pastors) mandating exorbitant salaries, allowing purchases entirely ostentatious, many yet remain modest missionaries. Moreover, while some self-absorbed, spiritual leaders insist on wrongful application of Jesus’ words aforementioned, true disciples will identify that this giving is sacrificial love for their Deliverer and His message and not giving monies so blessings (i.e., tangible) may flow.

Today’s Thought “My Answer” G. Ward John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” How many understand that a great deal of defense, including vitriol concerning people will always reveal impropriety of sorts in one consumed? We’re in an age where divisiveness has become the norm and that new moral code (presumably) allows dismissal of any disagreeable. We certainly won’t ever use the word ‘hate’ because its mere definition as passionate dislike for someone understands (inherently) that shouldn’t be named among men (cf. Eph.6:12). Every road instead, should ask Holy God to search mine own conscience and then allow His process opportunity to establish/restore us unto the mercy provided us and surely thereafter we’ll be disquieted (Ps.139:23-24)?

Today’s Thought “Wavering Confession” G. Ward Mark 14 27 And Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, because it is written: ‘I WILL STRIKE THE SHEPHERD, AND THE SHEEP WILL BE SCATTERED.’ 28 But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.” 29 But Peter said to Him, “Even if they all fall away, yet I will not!” 30 And Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you, that this very night, before a rooster crows twice, you yourself will deny Me three times.” 31 But Peter repeatedly said insistently, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” And they all were saying the same thing as well. For me, there’s such joy in daily pursuit of God’s Word. I’m learning how to always apply its truths enough so that I may see the best directives for my life and that discovery includes incessant recognition in how erroneous I’ve been about much. Instead, merciful compassion must be precedent and not a view concerning others’ spiritual malfeasance (i.e., “It’s me O Lord, standing in need!”). This presentation of another week isn’t given onto a resemblance of last week’s desire un-met, but to establish more trust of ONE who dispenses peace, particularly per your insistence of knowing HIM as Leader and anything less betrays…

Today’s Thought “Am I HIS Favorite?” G. Ward John 13 23 Lying back on Jesus’ chest was one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved. A disciple of Christ maintains a posture similar to John’s; attentive, while gathered as close is yet the objective and although we’re not granted a physical presence of our Lord as John would witness, HIS presence seeks us with spiritual similitude (*John 14:16-20,26). We must never assume a role as favorite; John did not. The personal gratitude in his description of himself (“the disciple whom Jesus loved”) was that which marveled how he could be loved by this Wonderful Savior, not a boast in wrongful priority (cf. Ro.2:11, Jas.2:1). Moreover, a disciple can never be satisfied in being known by our Lord and refuse such unlimited grace unto another. When proclamations maintain “highly favored” it more will indicate a lack of pursuit of HIS words (the gospel is not exclusive). Instead, our presentation of this day, must insist on a spiritual proactiveness, that intentionally finds another weary in expectation and introduce them to our Blessed Hope – Jesus; that’s favor!

Today’s Thought “There A Stranger in My House” G. Ward 2 Corinthians 5 16 Therefore from now on we recognize no one by the flesh; even though we have known Christ by the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way no longer. 17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. I often seek to leave home; the natural man that I am has become impossible to live with and I’ve been granted stay in a mansion and the Owner has paid for everything. All my life I’ve been taught to say “please” and “thank You” so it’s reasonable to make this ongoing, particularly in view of such generosity shown from the Owner. The joy that permeates my soul has me sharing the wealth of the Owner’s insistence; There’s room for others! Now, those I’ve encountered with such delight too, want to leave home…

Today’s Thought “Situational Compliance?” G. Ward Hebrews 5 “For every high priest taken from among men is appointed on behalf of people in things pertaining to God, in order to offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins; 2 he can deal gently with the ignorant and misguided, since he himself also is clothed in weakness; 3 and because of it he is obligated to offer sacrifices for sins for himself, as well as for the people. 4 And no one takes the honor for himself, but receives it when he is called by God, just as Aaron also was.” These people just won’t cooperate! This world is becoming a terrible place! Nowadays, very few are exercising in morality. What’s become of these young people; the way they dress and the disrespect is disgusting! I just don’t watch the news because it’s so depressing… Every complaint reveals arrogance; particularly when it pervades a hopelessness unto mankind’s inability to conform to righteousness. Furthermore, spiritual ignorance also determines a plight in wrongful assignment that questions, why then did God place you in His earth? Is Heaven a personnel department that grants those HE created occupational posture (along with outstanding salaries) contingent with what any are good at? If so, it certainly defies Christ’s assignment on earth; who was given as the Ultimate Sacrifice, higher than any and enduring an Empire so corrupt, amidst an uncooperative, rebellious people who sought to kill HIM (*John 15:18-20). While the question persists, “What’s my purpose?” You’ve been told (Phil.2:14-15) …

Today’s Thought “Let’s Meet, Then March?” G. Ward Matthew 22 34 But when the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him: 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And He said to him, “‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND. American culture is ever changing, leaving many anticipating the next outstanding point in eloquence, so as to adopt another perspective for their lives. There is however, predominant continuity that refuses to recall those citizens who’ve departed the earth, questioning how they endured. The expression “out with the old and in with the new” subliminally guides the footsteps of many; some even (*shamefully) tag those predecessors as weak. While there remains a perfect resolve unto uncertainties and sufferings, our society is with blatant refusal of the process to be spiritually established and whereas those insistent on knowing the Builder, fail at inviting the weary to fellowship with the magnificence of who HE is (considerate of Him as the Maker of every generation), more tactics produced keep many frustrated, needing answers (whereby believers are marked absent – cf. Heb.5:11-12). I’ll maintain a promotion proven in absolute prudence and say there is no better way onto stability than the Lord (*Ac.4:10-12).

Today’s Thought “Cultural Anarchy” G. Ward Ephesians 2 14 For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, 15 by abolishing in His flesh the hostility, which is the Law composed of commandments expressed in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two one new person, in this way establishing peace; 16 and that He might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the hostility. 17 And He came and preached peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near; Let’s face it, our entire world is consumed with observances in variation found in man and whereas God made mankind in His image, with no thought thereunto, wrongful appropriation continues. My journey in faith of Christ as Lord, yet finds the same worldly divisiveness in what should be an unblemished church, more indicative of unbelief, than implicit trust. Before I undoubtedly consider myself exempt from this unfortunate reality, I must first interrogate my own conscience and immediately determine Christ remains Sufficient to first receive my repentance, then build me onward to visuals of a final reality (*Rev.7:9). Until doing so, my usefulness and effectiveness dishonors Holy God.

Today’s Thought “Lunch All Alone” G. Ward Philippians 2 14 Do all things without complaining or arguments; 15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world. Communes are still established by the religious that endeavors a separation from those outside their faith and although believers are vessels of One who mingled among the worst society offered so as to present the Father’s desire for their repentance, we must never forget, we’ve been called to the same. While many are with motivational appeals that calls for the dismissal of those either cantankerous, even argumentative, Christ gave Himself for us while we too were entirely unlovely (Ro.5:8). Moreover, any who persist in foolish guard of their happiness at a continuum (particularly after being commanded towards sacrificial availability) apparently refuse to understand the mercy shown them (Jas.2:13) and may experience blissful fellowship with like-minded individuals in this short life, to soon inherit an eternity with those deemed unworthy to sup with now, where there’s no escape.

Today’s Thought “Am I He?” G. Ward Proverbs 25:28 A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls. Even those visually impaired are subject to visuals whereby the soul perceives circumstances all around and the many things offered can soon become a must have scenario. Mankind from every generation suffered with tremendous vulnerability in selfish desire and though that actuality persists, we all have lacked an introspection necessary towards a cure; to first admit I need mending and whereas many have testified to being an overcomer of sorts, another unfortunate occupation in wrongful desire surfaces (Jer.17:9). On today, let’s talk about the Savior, a masterful Surgeon (cf. Heb.4:12-13) with sole ability to remove the malignancy of temporal thinking that destroys greater spiritual cognizance. It’s that adjustment I’ll need to endeavor. Will you join me?

Today’s Thought “No Pork Chops and Catfish?” G. Ward Hebrews 10 16 “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” 17 Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” 18 And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary. Amazingly, the pervasive notion of something I can offer in conjunction to our Lord’s sacrifice for mankind’s sin continues and even harbors unbelief in Christ sufficiency (*cf. Jas.2:10-11). While the Law was given to enable a people belonging to Holy God, ability in consecration so as to attract other nations, let’s not forget it was solely fulfilled by Christ (none other! – Ro.3:10) and whereas His guidance now transcends an arduous set of demands (without achievement from man), His Spirit in every believer allows hearing by faith and has become our newest determination to fulfill. Become His student on today and receive every spiritual demand directly; it disquiets all impropriety…

Today’s Thought “Her Majesty” G. Ward Ephesians 3 20 Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, 21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. The viability of England’s monarchy has been a contentious argument for many years (largely due to government payout to the Windsor family). Moreover, this family’s bouts in controversy continue, even embarrassing for the British and Scots who desired to be prideful in historical demand for a king (cf.1 Sa.8) and whereas people of the Book understand the fallen state of mankind (Ro.3:23), we also observe a rightful, reciprocal attitude necessary for others to view, awakening to new mercies ourselves and when it’s time for departure, our confidence in being with our Lord is graciously culminated. I thank our God for stalwart character that was found in Queen Elizabeth II and for King Charles III upcoming regime; “Long Live the King” (He’d do well to follow such leading.)! Queen Elizabeth II - “For me the teachings of Christ and my own personal accountability before God provide a framework in which I try to lead my life,”

Today’s Thought “When I Think of You” G. Ward Galatians 6:1 Brothers and sisters, even if a person is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you are not tempted as well. 2 Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks that he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting, but to himself alone, and not to another. 5 For each one will bear his own load. With chants that rejoices upon our Lord’s discipline, given with tremendous love, even restoring us onto the joy intended, as though we’ve never violated HIM, are any qualified unilateral of His help? There however remains an unfortunate witness of our natural inability to administer consistent mercy in the same with one another; until personal insistence submits to the Spirit realm and because we’ve more lived by sight, than faith in His directives, it causes many onlookers to perceive this as an ordinary reaction from the church (i.e. hypocritical behavior). Our having been purchased by the Supreme sacrifice, Christ, can help turn this unfortunate paradigm, expectant of a marginalized view of bad behavior from the redeemed (Gal.5:16-24). God’s desire must be precedent in us and His desire wants their repentance, along with ours. Are you preparing for this monumental task?

Today’s Thought “Falling in Love With Jesus…” G. Ward Proverbs 28:13 “Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.” The swiftness of days presented invites most towards its pace and even opens unfortunate critique with any failing to seize moments the way I would. Faith in Christ however, more than confession, allows HIS lead and during the course of each day insists on numerous pause breaks that contrasts how I match up to demands of eternality and when I’m quiet, even though noise is all around, I bow onto great humility, knowing I’ve missed the mark set (*Ro.3:10) and HE always seeks to restore me (1 John 1:9). It’s the best thing I’ve ever done…

Today’s Thought “Who’s Favorite?” G. Ward Isaiah 49:6 “It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.” If one has billions of dollars, it would appear giving indiscriminately wouldn’t infringe on their wealth, but more seek to establish others similarly and whereas grace supplied solely by Christ (more than anything) remains available to the vilest of sinners, compelling every recipient thereunto to share concisely and then prepared to walk alongside these newest disciples until they’re prepared to instruct another (Matt.28:19), our God and all of heaven rejoices upon mankind’s compliance (*Luke 15:7).

Friday, September 2, 2022

Today’s Thought “Where’s the Party?” G. Ward Amos 3:3 “Do two people walk together unless they have agreed to meet?” The Sovereignty of the Almighty demands that humanity know Life is His and whereas He sent Amos to propose a series of rhetorical questions enabling Israel’s contemplations’ regard of the uncertainty in a next breath provided, they shunned the prophet’s authoritative message for the grandiose plans of a comparable Labor Day weekend (*cf. Heb.10:25).

Today’s Thought “A One in A Million…” G. Ward Proverbs 29:1 He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck, will suddenly be broken beyond healing. Our insistence for new sermon series and convocations of sorts, loves to be inspired and whereas a practice in personal motivation that embraces pursuits in happiness remains the goal; will soon reveal that posture sought is opposite to the life lived by who they’ll say is their Redeemer and while the cost of discipleship mandates we imitate our Lord, soon the exercise demanded will exhaust itself of such opportunity (*Ro.6:23) …

Wednesday, August 31, 2022

Today’s Thought “My Bishop” G. Ward 1 Corinthians 11:1 “Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.” While Peter, Paul, John and James sought to exist on behalf of their Wonderful Savior, the regalia worn, along with insistence of title utilized by congregants is with the equivalency of Jesus’ warning to His disciples with those portraying pharisaic nobility (i.e. *presumed, cf. Luke 11:42-44) and whereas those redeemed from sin are solely interested in giving accolades to the Redeemer, including teaching a paramount reality that any can be included in His merciful kindness, current leadership that pervades hierarchal regard remains a wrongful accompaniment and neglects/subverts the elementary oracle of a charge worthy to keep. I’m afraid for their souls; particularly IF there’s no repentance (soon – cf. *Hos.4:6-10).

Tuesday, August 30, 2022

Today’s Thought “Wrongful Contribution” G. Ward Acts 5:29 But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.” Since believers have obviously failed to faithfully promote reproducing the greatest and only true message of reconciliation and because spiritual leaders insist on pervading more social, civil and political realities as something perceivably soluble (along with gospel Truth), will you be the “few” in the greatest discourse given man by our LORD that commands we choose the unpopular route and then be bold enough to make that same presentation to your congregation onto compliance (*cf. Matt.7:13-14)?

Friday, August 26, 2022

Today’s Thought “Blocking the Son” G. Ward John 8:47 “Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.” The answer from God remains unclear when the sentiment desires immediate deliverance onto personal demand and then there’s those tagged peculiarly embracing contentment and settled towards living in the Spirit realm (as best) asking many disillusioned, “if HE was good enough to make you, can HIS Infinite wisdom guide you?”

Thursday, August 25, 2022

Today’s Thought “We’ll Need to Focus…” G. Ward 2 Timothy 2:14 “Remind them of these things, and solemnly exhort them in the presence of God not to dispute about words, which is useless and leads to the ruin of the listeners.” When/if the believer won’t waver from a commitment to be owned by Heaven, while being a witness to merciful love shown them (particularly in view of their faults) and not with boasts in knowing that same Redeemer (exclusively), as if to say that club is privatized unto those deemed “good,” inquiry from others is less suspect and argumentative and may cause personal demand from them that asks, “what must I do to be at peace(?).”

Today’s Thought “Deserted, But Not Alone” G. Ward 1 Peter 4 12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though something strange were happening to you; 13 but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that at the revelation of His glory you may also rejoice and be overjoyed. Sufferings of sorts remains questionable with many presumed innocent, until our humanity regards earth’s citizenry before us and more seeks to celebrate their endurance and whereas that same view (of predecessors) may have insights of personal shortcomings stemming from those lives, there’s ONE worthy of our contemplations who walked the earth (perfectly) and lends His unwavering courage while choosing to exist in our hearts.

Today’s Thought “Selling Snake Oil” G. Ward Matthew 21 12 And Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all those who were selling and buying on the temple grounds, and He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves. 13 And He *said to them, “It is written: ‘MY HOUSE WILL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER’; but you are making it a DEN OF ROBBERS.” Acts of worship may have been reduced to campaigns for more tangibles, even dressed up as investment groups promising great dividends, but the Spiritual Corporate Giant who already owns everything, never desired record profits.

Today’s Thought “Songs I Like at Church” G. Ward 1 Timothy 3 15 if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. 16 Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory. Holy God established the family through marriage, setting forth an order that would enable our obedience unto Him and whereas worship solely belongs to His magnificence, our contemplations should reflect the great things He has done that sought to build spiritual character in us. Here’s a corollary for your consideration: Our parents blessed us with discipline, great affection and fantastic gifts. Our adulthood now celebrates all their effort; but when we were children, gifts only please. Our praise of God may be similar to the child’s demand (*Heb.12:9-11) …

Today’s Thought “Outrageous Honorarium” G. Ward 1 Timothy 5 17 The elders who lead well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching. My ministry years have included both reasonable and unreasonable servitude, while affording me a modest lifestyle; but I must admit to not having done well to teach Holy God’s Word regarding the spiritual, two-fold response from congregants unto their Pastor’s well-being. God’s Word commands believers towards a great respectability, along with tremendous remuneration (monetarily) and while some immediately offer contest towards His ordination, their surgeons, attorneys and accountants command exorbitant salaries, while helpful in a short-lived capacity and without haggle from its consumer base thereunto and whereas your clergy shares a properly investigated observance of our Lord’s resolute guidance (found in His Word) that grants you a joyous, peaceable life journey in earth, along with a preparation assuring eternity, he should only have enough for a garage apartment and only consume meat on Sundays (?). There’s great, unfortunate competing against Truth the more as Movado Watches, Bugatti’s and planes have become the newest demand from some of our postmodern clergy…

Today’s Thought “Independently HIS” G. Ward John 13 33 “My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come. 34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Regardless of whether your Pastor considers the entire script in God’s Word as sufficient, or chooses to relay his political stance (entirely divisive and untrustworthy, no matter its partisanship), or pervades entertainment figures as hell bound due to perceived immoral posture; remains the believer’s responsibility towards the Truth and whereas we’re not promoting rebellion (cf. Matt.28:18-20); but highest regard for the reliable, infallible Creator who desires a love relationship with any (i.e. from the vilest murderer to those cheating on taxes), in the same way grace and mercy found you (*Ro.3:10), remembering the clergy too need Jesus…

Today’s Thought “PF Flyers” G. Ward 1 Peter 1 13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, 15 but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; 16 because it is written: “YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.” Before the popularity of Converse, Adidas and Nike sneakers, was the affordable PF Flyers. The slogan of that day assured children they’d "Run Faster, Jump Higher" and whereas that was a time when kids played outdoors for hours each day, this purchase was a must. What I didn’t know was they’re still available. I’m wondering if my arthritis would diminish if I buy a pair? The race given us is transcendent of time and won’t compete with other children, but will experience temptation’s participation in a race unsanctioned. Peter’s inspired message of God unto believers is with a godly slogan in the same ("Run Faster, Jump Higher"); because sufferings of sorts, that can include criticisms, being ostracized and economic woes, should have the believer running quickly to a meditative recall in Who loves them best and because HE owns everything, along with having existed now and forevermore, He’ll never forsake those beloved. May our straining as overcomers in His Provision seek to emulate such greatness.
