Today’s Thought “Peek A Boo…” G. Ward

Isaiah 59:1 “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short that it cannot save; nor is His ear so dull that it cannot hear.”

Our lives are mostly comparable to Clark Kent’s change into Superman. We begin in lowly terms, needing a greater Source unto sustenance to then undergird change and become independently and presumably omnipotent and without humility the “kryptonite” disguised as feats unseen and unconquerable is the haughtiness that lends destruction.

Today’s Thought “Beyond the River” G. Ward

1 Timothy 4:7Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness.”

Mid-term elections have been introduced as the quintessential hope for America. Although we’ve been down this road before, that is witnessing the House of Representatives (435 from Congress and 100 Senators) flip-flop in partisan control to ultimately purport more conjecture than absolutism, the predominance of our citizenry awaits justice from man. Historically, man’s insistence for a king propelled him unto sinful unbelief. Currently and sadly, the supposed “evangelical” searches in the same (cf. 1 Sa. 8), epitomizing hypocrisy that empties unto blasphemy; because the populous is more familiar with their political stance than eternal hope found in Christ. Apparently, we’ve all become more than Christ, who dis-involved Himself in every political posture to insist mankind observe their alien status that should depend on the King of Kings…

Today’s Thought “Regarded In Earth, Unknown to Eternity” G. Ward

Isaiah 59:19 “So they will fear the name of the Lord from the west and His glory from the rising of the sun, for He will come like a rushing stream which the wind of the Lord drives.”

Last words from those esteemed by man are most interesting. The eloquence is with tremendous authorship with insistence from many who remain in earth, that demand it be archived along with other letters of governance (i.e. moral, ethical, etc.). In other words, “Words to Live by.”

While some may find it necessary to establish a legacy whereby placards and personal names on buildings remain unto decades, the same measure of man (in his frailty – Ps.90:10-12) remains ignorant to the Maker of heaven and earth’s demand to be glorified beyond vain philosophy (cf. Mt.24:35). What will they say about you?

Today’s Thought “When A Loved One Dies” G. Ward
2 Peter 1:16 “For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.”

Generations witnessed Grandmother’s demand of particulars for their earthly departure. These times are with claimants of denial concerning the inevitable. Who’s right? Let’s assume both are absolutely wrong (cf. Ro.3:4) for the sake of argument?
Preparedness must assess what any prepare for. Is it assumed destination (Mt.7:21-23)?
Life given is the test for mankind that admits his will, emotion and intellect as entirely frail and therefore longs for better structure (2 Cor.5:1-5). Let’s not allow religion to become the blockade for HIS loving us (cf. Jn.14:6), while insisting on the original plan.

Today’s Thought “Disgusting, Yet Divinely Inspired” G. Ward

Proverbs 26:11 “Like a dog that returns to its vomit is a fool who repeats his folly.”

Dogs are said to be man’s best friend. I had a dog that I truly adored. She was with great human traits, embodying unrelenting care towards me that would ensure my happiness. Her mode in extending great affection included aggressive licking. Like many dogs she sought to make contact with my mouth, emblematic of the highest regard we’ve adopted through feelings of intimacy.

Dogs historically have serviced mankind in great ways, so it’s no wonder we’ve come to this modernity’s regard of them as family members, and while I celebrate my grandchildren’s kisses, I trust that when they defecate their noses despise investigation and if they must regurgitate food that’s rejected bodily, they certainly don’t lick it up. But there is my middle grandson Ethan…

Today’s Thought “Selling Snake Oil” G. Ward

2 Peter 2:1 “But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.”

There’s an undermining of Holy God’s word when any pervades a philosophical hope unto a people constructed for His purpose and because He seemingly lacks expediency concerning their personal plight’s unfolding they retort unto temporal “feel good” messaging. It eventually becomes a presumed practice that more anticipates an ever-evolving position of man (i.e. falsely successful for 80-90 years in earth) against the last stanza of the great hymn of the faith, “Amazing Grace” to which the practitioner thereunto denies: “When we’ve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise Than when we first begun.”

Today’s Thought “A Soul Once Esteemed” G. Ward

Proverbs 22:2 “The rich and the poor have a common bond; the Lord is the maker of them all.”

Here today, gone tomorrow is a phrase transcendent of people, but with equal significance with our desires – where contentment doesn’t reside. Lending oneself to an imaginary hospice state may certainly be perceived as morbid, but is more actual than we’d like to admit. Contemplation of my end shouldn’t  await a funeral pyre to know I could be next, but should seek the brevity in moments given by my King that highlights HIS governance over me (Ps.90:12).

Today’s Thought “Staying the Course” G. Ward

John 1:11 “He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him.”

Children growing up lack the kind of personal accolade sufficient for boasting, so they divert attention (including embellishment) towards the accomplishments (both potential and past endeavors) of their parents or other responsible adults they know. Ultimately they may feel it attributable to their undeniable success in similar pursuit.

Immaturity rests in the uncertainty of future plans, while prudence understands no guarantee of a next moment by planning in accordance to Wisdom’s directives (cf. Jas.1:5-6). The plans without human devisement remain exemplary for generations to come…

Today’s Thought “A Fight Not Worth Pursuing” G. Ward

Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the headland you shall bruise him on the heel.”

While religion has sought to bind and rebuke the adversary, this lapse in prudence forgets that from the beginning the Most High’s plan would destroy him unilateral of our help. It’s good to know the mercy of Holy God; particularly how the beginning witnessed the first two having committed horrid collusion with the Devil to then be assured that descendants thereafter (you and me) could/would enjoin themselves to the same Redeemer’s power to squash the enemy’s plan to destroy mankind.

Mercy shown from the Builder of man insists on our conformity (thereunto) in the building we possess.

Today’s Thought “The Dreaded Treadmill” G. Ward

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

There are no shoes constructed suitable for life’s marathon, because the miles included far exceed 26 (miles) and the wear (from the highest grade sneaker) in the ordinary race must be discarded due to worn pressure points (cf. Heb.12:1-3). There is however a pursuit whereby a prize is awarded without category (2 Ti.2:4-6)…

Today’s Thought “Houdini Did It…” G. Ward

Matthew 4:3-4 And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”  But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”

To remain in a pit perceived inescapable forgets the initial demand for my dreaded arrival there and despair won’t allow hope’s contemplation for escape (cf. Jer.15:19). Believers however have enjoined themselves to Christ’s example via righteous steps precluding being trapped. Having the gift of the Savior’s example extends hope that endures, particularly in moments perceived as impossible, and implicit reliance with what HE modeled is the calling to fulfill.

Today’s Thought “Pounds Unwanted” by G. Ward

Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.”

Moving on (i.e. without confession, through repentance of sin’s journey) in the newness of the day while rejoicing in Holy God coverage is abhorrent unto Heaven. The days are closing in on man and a practice of intimacy can often be marred because of a frivolous approach to Holy God’s throne including too many words (cf. Eccl.5:1-2) vs. worshipful contemplations of HIS mercy with guidance. I must not go on without unraveling the superficial layer in how frail I really am via child like faith in HIS deliverance.

Normalcy and mediocrity should never be numbered in the great equation of salvation; but must more embody a strenuous climb to a peak where consistent holiness is found…
