Ward Acts 20:35 In everything I showed you that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” The Apostle Paul’s work involved tremendous sharing of Truth in many provinces, which lends affirmation to Christ’s mandate of “go and make disciples of all the nations.” He (Paul) would inform disciples of a divinely imposed knowledge given as he would minister in these cities that insisted, “chains and afflictions await me” encouraging both disciples and pastors of their dutiful response with the greatest message of reconciliation. Love for God’s created ones was the objective and unlike the current trend (exercised from some modern-day pastors) mandating exorbitant salaries, allowing purchases entirely ostentatious, many yet remain modest missionaries. Moreover, while some self-absorbed, spiritual leaders insist on wrongful application of Jesus’ words aforementioned, true disciples will identify that this giving is sacrificial love for their Deliverer and His message and not giving monies so blessings (i.e., tangible) may flow.
