Today’s Thought “The Subtlety of Error” G. Ward Galatians 1 6 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel, 7 which is not just another account; but there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. God is absolutely not partisan; He loves those in the universe created by Him. We however, have a subliminal implant of “blessings” being strongly associated with America, forgetting history that witnessed other empires collapse that too “flowed with milk and honey” (i.e., Canaan, Assyria, Babylonia, Persia and the Romans). I’m so amazed to see so many posts with supplication unto the Almighty that asks the Creator to absolutely forbid sickness from penetrating their home, along with desiring “no lack” (financially) for this year and whereas my religious friends insist I’m crazy (and I am), know this; recent statistical data reports that there are about eight percent of the global population that live in extreme poverty, which means they subsist on less than US$2.15 per day and half of the world’s population lives on less than $6.85 daily. Moreover, did you not awaken to hearing the earthquake’s victims of Syria/Turkey’s tragedy, now reporting more than 20,000 deaths. You rejoice because health is yours and most American cities with children’s hospitals are with oncology wards filled with parents accompanying their innocent babies, having spent the night awaiting dismal forecasts and please forgive this theologian’s usage of pragmatism that asks in this month honoring Black History, “could our foreparents claim all of this?”
