Today’s Thought “Ode to My Father” G. Ward

 

Ephesians 6:4 “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.”

 

Sequestered in close quarters with family members can serve as a reminder of why it may be important to endeavor outside curricular activities of sorts. Moreover, it could allow frustration’s ugly head to rise whereas responses are crude (Eph.4:26), particularly with children. The objective however must be contained by mercy and respect shown (*Matt.5:7). Furthermore, the patience rendered our children (no matter the age) is the safeguard for even our great grandchildren’s receptivity onto Truth (Jn.14:6). We cannot chant sentiments in believing the children are the future while allowing their exposure to condescending attitudes that emanate from their own parentage…
