Today’s Thought “Our Drunk Uncle” G. Ward

“Now Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took their respective firepans, and after putting fire in them, placed incense on it and offered strange fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them.” Leviticus 10:1

Alcohol is a most mortifying inebriant that serves mankind in the same as a fictitious truth serum would. Many that want to identify what anyone might think of himself can gain presence unto any alcoholic after they’ve consumed their max (i.e. before the stupor sets in). Be prepared however to hear more than you’ve bargained for. Perhaps if that has been you in times past (needing to be evaluated), you sought a friend or relative who spared your feelings, whereas your drunk Uncle would have given you immediate resolve with your conflict.

I say all this in jest. None shall ever need a drunk to delineate their selfish plights, God has already (cf. 2 Ti. 3:1-5). But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart" (1 Sa.16:7).

Happy Wednesday!
