Today’s Thought “Unbreakable?”
G. Ward
Hebrews 10
26 For if we go
on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth,
there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a terrifying expectation
of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries.
While sinning willfully (for
believers) won’t include violating God’s commands without conscious, but can/will
exist, yet with hatred for their indiscretions (Ro.7:14-20), along
with an insistence unto repentance – even denying ungodly repetition thereunto,
we welcome HIS changing us (*cf. Heb.10:39).
Apostasy, however, cheapens the grace
of God; they’ve heard the gospel, understand its implications and reside often
on the cusp of surrendering to the Way of the Lord, subverting Truth via a
natural rebellion, to then turn away.
To persist in hearing, even that to
which can pass a test on Bible phenomena, won’t quantify any belonging to HIM
(Matt.7:21-23). It must be on HIS terms, or nothing at all and yes, HE
knows your heart and it’s not/nor will ever be good enough (*Jer.17:9-10).
