Today’s Thought “Time, In A Bottle…”
G. Ward
Psalm 24
1 The earth is
the Lord’s, and all it
contains, the world, and those who live in it.
2 For He has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the
rivers. 3 Who may ascend
onto the hill of the Lord? And who may stand in His
holy place?
Persuading the unchurched onto spiritual order (solely) from
God’s Word should be precedent unto every believer’s desire. Moreover, that
order presented must undeniably portray Holy God as the Only Sufficient One and
all others (considerably) less than (cf. Ro.10:14).
Unfortunately, our era is witness to a cultural pervasion of
an unscripted allowance of having the Creator on terms of man - practiced by
the church and unchurched (e.g., worship styles, including musical genre
entirely secular, lack of expositional preaching with numerous contrasts so
worldly, even comedic, promises extended unto every listener that assures there’s
imminent blessings with your name on it, absolutely precluding mention of sin
and God’s judgment – including HELL as unnecessary for such a discourse, etc.).
May we all more understand as Job would upon saying, “Naked
I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I shall return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away.
Blessed be the name of
the Lord” (Job 1:21), and
whereas Job would be exposed to significant challenges in grief, he’d never let
go of knowing that he was merely passing through God’s world.
