Jude 1:7

“Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.”

Upon coming to faith, my participation in varied conferences enjoyed continuity among preachers that issued great warnings against assimilation unto an unsettling world. There was talk of no moral absolutes’ increase and the damage for many generations to follow. These discourses were known as “Fire and brimstone” messaging. Throughout Old and New Testament this is what we see in predominance and while some insist on extracting only those passages of comfort, their acclimation to what’s more pervasive (in the world), disallows them proper understanding that warnings are remarkably encourageable (cf. Heb.12:6).
