Today’s
Thought “Endurance, the Chieftain of Trust” G. Ward
1 John 2:18-19 “Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that
antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we
know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of
us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not
of us.”
Have
we forgotten the message of God to the prophets? Sure, the compilation of God’s
word unto man is complete, causing direct consultation with Christ, but it
doesn’t discount the warnings throughout the holy script given us. How have you
fared with all the messages of encouragement from the modern day messenger?
Amazingly, many of those messages violate the contingency for receipt of joy
and peace with echoes of guarantee as if any are good enough. Rarely, if at all
is a life transformed (spiritually) when declarations are made without
introduction of consequence in disobedience.
Optimism,
for believers rejoices in Holy God’s chastisement, along with His warnings,
calling it guidance in a weary land; while maturing daily, enduring great
struggle and grief, still rejoicing because of HIS eternal presence.
