Today’s Thought “A Believer’s Assurance” G. Ward

 

Romans 8: ³⁸ For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

 

Saul, an ambitious, most intellectual religious leader, instrumental to the early church’s ruin as a great persecutor is guided in the Spirit to write about God’s Love through Christ. Earlier, he’d be complicit in the death of Stephen, one of God’s great servants, yet he knew HIS Redeemer lives, so he’d devote his energies to extending greatest comfort to any with a past – unworthy, that would share hope beyond heinous sin. This writing would indicate that love does not depend on human goodness or strength; but rests entirely on what Christ has done. Moreover, he writes with total confidence that God's love for His people is permanent and cannot be broken by any force, failure, or circumstance.

A soul’s assurance on such an eternal matter, desires to bless the Lord at all times, even that to which proclaims worship, through obedience to HIS commands and having an inner attitude of humility, thankfulness, and sincere devotion; along with Treasuring and delighting in God more than anything else in the world.

 

Lord God, whereas Your Word records, "to whom much is given, much is required" has our souls more willing than ever before to use this spiritual posture to bless others with a witness in all Christ did. So, we seek Your every appointment, preparing our minds to look not on external measures, but to be contained in the love and mercy shown us, trusting in Your Holy transformation of any and praising You for the comfort in knowing that Your abiding with us shall never depart; all because of Jesus, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Blinded by the Light” G. Ward

 

John 3: ²¹ But the one who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds will be revealed as having been performed in God.

 

This verse is a culminating one concerning Nicodemus, one inquisitive and respectful of Christ, while avoiding being seen by the other religious leaders; particularly since he himself was one of the high-ranking members. Moreover, this visitation would be arranged at night, for to visit in daylight could have ruined his social standing or cost him his position. Nicodemus was enamored with all Jesus would perform, recognizing that He must be a teacher sent by God.

Our social and cultural rankings can carry a wrongful priority similar. We’re many times faithful on Sunday morning, attending worship services for one hour, inspired even, by messages in eloquence, while seemingly in control of the other 167 hours weekly given us.

Jesus explains that God sent Him to save the world, not to condemn it and whereas people judge themselves by whether they turn toward or away from HIS divine light; please know this, self-governance is never sanctioned by the Almighty.

 

Almighty God, those of us who live by Your divine light, do so in absolute recall of Your grace provided through Christ. We desire our every word spoken, along with our deeds to proclaim how great You are to dispense Your peace. We have joy because of our daily determinations to allow Your perfect lead, while refusing a practice insignificant to eternity. May You be honored through our surrender, in Jesus Name, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Stop, Drop and Roll” G. Ward

 

Proverbs 15:1, A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

 

Text messaging is positively phenomenal until one obtains a false confidence that allows words spelled out that one wouldn’t ordinarily be vocalizing if an individual is in their presence and whereas this confidence through text expresses how violated he or she feels, the language offends the receiver and everyone thereafter has snow-balled unto anger mountain.

Believers however, are compelled to a meditative process before answering what may be perceived as insult to their intelligence, or blatant mean-spiritedness from another. Their hesitance to respond should never be interpreted as weakness, but best reliance on ONE Savior who endured insults and greatest abuse while innocent of any indiscretion and thereafter died in our stead. HIS resurrection now determines we’re with HIS perfect example to follow.

 

Father God, we pray for one another in this most difficult way to address offenses; for to obey, indicates gratitude for all our Suffering Savior supplied. So, may our pause before responding to any, consider our eternal status and embody Your will as it is in Heaven, our home, as sojourners in earth, absolutely belonging to You, in word and deed. All because of Jesus, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Merciful: A Reasonable Attribute” G. Ward

 

Titus 3: ⁴ But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, ⁵ He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we did in righteousness, but in accordance with His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

 

A believer’s rejection of another must be carefully in tune to their own yesterday; particularly that to which won’t compare oneself with a host of other bad actors, but assess how well I’ve imitated the ONE who redeemed me from my every indiscretion, despite my continued failings and while I was unkind, unloving and blatantly rebellious. Perhaps then, my actions will demonstrably and compassionately look beyond faults in others as was shown to me by our Eternal King(?).

 

Holy God, we marvel in Your Word. For it guides us perfectly and whereas the Spirit allows our understanding, enough so to correct us, we welcome that change. Our greatest need to proclaim Your generosity to another beleaguered by ongoing troubles that keeps them broken compels us, Your called out ones – to introduce the greatest cure offered mankind, Jesus our Lord; teaching them how HE continues to love those HE made and desires a love relationship with any who’ll place their trust in HIM. We thank You for such a charge to recall – through all our Savior demonstrated. To HIM be the glory, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “A Spoiled Child” G. Ward

 

2 Corinthians 12

 ⁹ And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

 

Humans were made fragile to more depend on their Maker in everything; and so, the Apostle Paul is our student-example of endurance amidst what he referred to as a thorn in his flesh and would pray three times for the Lord to take it from him. Our Lord said no. Paul writes, that trust in the Lord endures. Here, the thorn was opposition to his ministry; a false apostle, who would continuously counter Paul’s teaching.

 Jesus would teach every disciple how to more pray the Lord’s will be done and whereas it’s also said that God will give you and me the desires of our hearts – what that means is that once our hearts are genuinely in tune with the Lord’s Word in unselfish desire, and to never think of oneself as better than Jesus, who suffered unto a life of greatest persecution, betrayal from within, lies and deception from HIS own along with the most brutal crucifixion, we’d prepare accordingly (Matt.16:24). The Apostle Paul would thereafter consider how to overwhelmingly conquer a troubled mindset; for his troubles, like ours, are momentary and so Holy God reminds us in the same, MY grace is Sufficient.

Lord God, our mouths have echoed we trust Thee, but then we rise from our knees in immediate activity to assume because we’re able, You approve. May each one on today, more realize that absolute, daily pursuit of what’s written and devoted compliance unlocks uncertainties and grants peace amidst the many thistles and thorns in our way. Our desire is more trust of Thee, through Jesus, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Overwhelmed in Soap Scum” G. Ward

 

Titus 3: ⁵ He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we did in righteousness, but in accordance with His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.

 

There’s a complete spiritual cleansing and brand-new life God gives a person through Jesus Christ; and this metaphor describes a deep, spiritual cleaning that removes sin. This renewal given believers, refers to the ongoing, life-changing work of the Holy Spirit inside a believer. The Spirit does not just patch up an old life; He continually transforms and molds the person into a new creation.

We’re given a complete spiritual cleansing by ALL Christ offered, that is HIS very life in exchange for our punishment and whereas HIS Spirit (Ro.8:9) exists in believers, enabling us to discern the Truth of God’s Word (1 Cor.2:14), may we consider HIS transforming us by/through a daily pursuit of how Christ correlated in the earth; for HIS perfect example will guide us onto greater peace in the many trials presented.

 

And Lord God, we’re adjusting daily to counting it joy when trials invade our moments, for we know You as a Mighty Shelter and absolutely more depend on Your ongoing presence to carry us through. We pray on today, for other believers – vulnerable to being grievous in their soul; that they’d witness a fellow believer coming to their aid, walking alongside them until trouble diminishes and then become productive witnesses altogether, proclaiming Christ as our All in All, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Who’s Who: A Tag Obliterated” G. Ward

 

2 Corinthians 5: ¹⁷ Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

 

The new identity in Christ, a believer is afforded, can absolutely forget about carrying the outstanding luggage of old, so weighty and consumed with appearances of perfection and worldly success; it’s because the Maker of Heaven and earth, including people and things, decided to inhabit fleshly vessels of mankind – chosen, before the foundation of the world was considered. The believer’s past won’t define us; we’re completely recreated by God and to know that no matter our moral productivity (according to others), HIS highest standard continues to be violated, until any humble themselves through a repentant heart, to then seek forgiveness through Christ. 1 John 3:1 highlights the great love of the Father in making believers children of God, assuring believers there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus; now our makeover celebrates being HIS chosen and given the priesthood to reflect HIS nature and compels others unto that same light from a dark, weary path (cf. John 7:13-14).

 

Father God, to meditate on this great, spiritual focal point is so refreshing. So, our hearts are glad and generously offer praise to Your transforming us unto an effectual calling as witnesses to Your Truth. May this serve as tremendous encouragement for our day’s journey in You that invites the many of our encounters to see our works and bless Your Holy and Righteous Name; asking Your appointments for this day presented to proclaim How Great Is Our God! In Jesus Name, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Throwing the First Stone” G. Ward

 

1 John 3: ¹¹ For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we are to love one another.

 

Genuine love for fellow believers acts as proof that a person has moved from spiritual death into eternal life and whereas we know what our Savior endeavored to forgive our sins, including being hated while innocently proclaiming HIS Father’s plan from the beginning, our commissioning would be similar (John 15:20). Therefore, our clinging to that rugged cross (given us) involves an uneasy road ahead, requiring interdependence from other like-minded believers (Eccl.4:9-12) for periodic encouragement is needed (Heb.10:25). Soon, and because few are involved with the Truth of this spiritual quest, love for the brethren increases and believers exact our Lord’s demand, “By this (love) all people will know that you are My disciples.”

 

Father God, we’re here temporarily to reflect Your character as Holy and whereas You’ve granted us every spiritual blessing to do so, we seek Your blessing as we endeavor all it shall mean to thrive as representatives of Your commands while in a weary land, preparing each day in accordance to how our Lord Jesus endured and following HIS perfect example, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Simple Math” G. Ward

Revelation 21: ¹⁸ I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; ¹⁹ and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.

 

Complete honesty and respect for God's message is the eternal demand given mankind. Here’s what that’ll mean; One must not invent new prophecies, or twist the text to fit personal agendas, or falsely claim God said something He did not and whereas the airwaves are filled with religious zealots invading Holy space by seeking fame and fortune; true missionaries maintain the words in Jesus’ preparation that says, “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you…”

Pursuing Truth without sensationalism lends great joy and peace, even establishing greatest confidence in HIS abiding with us wherever we venture, assuring that the HOME HE prepared for us, assuredly includes us.

 

So, Father God, whereas we know You as All-Wise and All-Power, our trust is established by the daily pursuit in Your Word where absolute Truth lives. May that faith grow exponentially so, as we proclaim to all the excellence You’ve allowed in our approach to Your Mighty Throne, through Jesus our Lord, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Mama Said, Eat Your Liver” G. Ward

 

1 Corinthians 10: ²³ All things are permitted, but not all things are of benefit. All things are permitted, but not all things build people up. 

 

Legalism in a biblical context is the mistaken belief that people can earn or keep God's favor, salvation, or attain towards spiritual maturity by strict adherence through having read perceived Truth from Holy God’s script and whereas to know Jesus was/is the fulfillment of the Law, means to know the Almighty’s standard won’t accept futile efforts of man, so inconsistent in compliance, Christ, would follow those precepts perfectly, allowing our sweet communion with the Father (John 14:6). The apostle, having penned this letter through Divine inspiration, would share liberty in Christ, but not that which violates another’s potential to follow our Lord’s perfect way. For example, many won’t eat pork, because all their lives they were told it was absolutely forbidden and whereas they affirm the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, confessing their sins through repentance, but maintain some dietary constraint, perhaps our Lord will open the door for you and me to aid their inaccuracy(?), but if I insist on eating smothered pork chops in their presence, it’s become abhorrently offensive to them and may ruin a witness.

 

Father God, the attitude of Christ was intentionally compassionate and sacrificial and whereas we’re called to follow HIS example and lead, we’re deciding to trust in all HE administered. Our light within was given by the Savior to point others to HIM and disquiet the darkness having consumed those lost. So, may our every word and action, live in the standard You determined as absolute, as we joyously say, it’s more than enough and give freely Your highest standard to any deficient in knowing – our Lord Jesus paid it all (*Col.2:13-14)! Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Artificial Intelligence: The Hoax” G. Ward

 

Psalm 37:5 says, “Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He will do it.” What will HE do? Verse 7 says, “Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not get upset because of one who is successful in his way, because of the person who carries out wicked schemes.”

Both verses compel those who’ve placed their trust in the Lord’s redemption to surrender our life choices and worries completely to God, trusting Him to handle the results, and remain still and patient instead of being reactionary. The demand for new and improved by the populous on most anything is the culprit for this recent and actual warning from A.I.’s best corporate visionaries. There’s a presumption – suggestive in their witness to the pace of this ingenuity moving far too swiftly and whereas most systems are/have become reliant on this artificial intelligence, even anticipating its ability to draw from all information ever recorded that may inevitably witness cancer’s cure, society, at large have crowned Mr. A.I., KING (cf.1 Sa.8:4-20).

From the beginning, the Almighty sanctioned mankind’s exploration of things helpful for this earthen journey, for HE is the Inventor; but as the only constraint from the forbidden tree scenario exists, with its enticing fruit as a clear warning, dependence on devices is the same that may soon witness - lights out!

 

Father God, from the beginning, You made the light and darkness, so, may we enlarge our spiritual perception of You as our Great Shepherd, who won’t leave us and may that mighty shelter You provide more understand how trials aren’t lasting and teach that surrender to another overcome in anxiety and fear, that enables trust in Jesus now and forevermore, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Opposite of Worldly Standards” G. Ward

 

Philippians 2:1-2

“Therefore, if there is any encouragement in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.”

 

Whereas to differentiate between a Christian against another un-surrendered, can be difficult because many are very kind, compassionate people with, or without surrender to Christ. That kind of contrasting is insignificant to believers, because we know our light must shine brightly because of Jesus in us and therefore compels us towards a practice of an attitude like our Selfless Savior’s – no matter the pace of society or indiscretions of man. Moreover, our focus as believers is to absolutely recall how Christ experienced greatest oppression, yet never embodied a mindset of retribution that despised those persecutors, but meditations on how He’d soon give HIS life for them along with you and me and whereas Christ set the high bar in putting others ahead of Himself, that demand is now ours.

 

Father God, it’s difficult to conceptualize how Great a Savior we have until we adjourn to the sanctuary of our mindset and whereas that mystery for us is unfolded and we know of HIS love towards us wasn’t contingent on our correcting the many transgressions of Your Holy script, but placing implicit trust in Jesus, who satisfied every requirement. So, we say thank You for being so much more than we ever thought could exist; a day-to-day privilege to call You, Father. In Jesus Name, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Recruiting Sharpshooters” G. Ward

 

Deuteronomy 18: ²⁰ But the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in My name, a word which I have not commanded him to speak, or which he speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.

 

While many presume to speak for Holy God, their words, many times, fail to echo what’s found from Genesis to Revelation and even when there’s quoting of such, context can be violated, that absolutely distorts its impact in Truth. Moreover, the sayer’s knowledge of so many impressed with their perceived eloquence, works vigorously to keep the masses confounded by intentionally finding passages befitting to their greed. Throughout Holy God’s compilation of Truth, great warning is given regarding trust of man; so much so, that true prophets’ prefacing would most always begin with the Lord says, inviting those listeners to potential judgment when compliance to HIS demands were violated; yet, many times, these warnings offered a proposed return to the Lord’s way. If/when a presumed minister of Truth is always sharing great things ahead (particularly when an auditorium may contain 50 or more), against God’s “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven,” the demand for these may not be as what’s given them from the Old Testament – to be stoned to death, but an imminent eternity in torment may be.

 

Father God, whereas more discernment is needed than before, many have to first decide that the Truth of Your Word is Life. May we who know the journey You provide for us depends on that Truth as any parched desires water. May our intentional witness more gather those vulnerable to trickery of the false prophet than ever before and then teach all Your commands, giving You all the glory and honor, in Jesus Name, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Straight Talk” G. Ward

 

2 Peter 2:1, “But false prophets also appeared among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.”

 

Whereas it’s said that “many are called, but few are chosen,” we’ve now become witnesses to that reality. It’s given in such measurement because of a demand from so many to be entertained by eloquence over substance, along with masses being embittered with so many struggles of times past – entirely unresolved and seemingly without answers so contrary to today’s jargon that says don’t claim miseries of sorts, instead, just speak your demands. Moreover, spiritual, historical realities from God’s Word are/have become the sole responsibility of the pulpiteers’ explanation and whereas those who’ve placed their trust in the Lord Jesus are told to weigh everything heard (Ac.17:11, 1 John 4:1), so many rather trust in these princes. Our Lord Jesus insisted we know that none are to be exempt from great sufferings of sorts (John 15:20), but more consider an assurance of HIS unrelenting presence. Therefore, we’re called to disallow every false teacher’s penetration of fanciful distortions of biblical truth, that lead people away from genuine faith in Christ and keep the vulnerable depending on them.

 

And Lord God, we need the Truth of Your Word to reign supreme in every mindset that unfolds a personal determination to build confidence in all You instruct and whereas we’re to extend honor to Your teachers of Truth, implicit trust belongs to YOU. We ask that You bless our pursuit in Your Word for Your glory. In Jesus Name, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Lending Inspiration” G. Ward

 

Titus 2:2, “Older men are to be temperate, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance.”

 

In faith through Christ, there’s an ongoing, daily pursuit in HIS Word that allows a dignified approach to all we’ll say and do; after all, we’re significantly owned by this Savior, who exemplified every moral attribute HE requires from us, so HE’S not insisting on these attitudinal demands pretentiously; for HE knows the difficult road ahead. Remember, how upon HIS appointment of the first disciples, He’d admonish them/us accordingly (Matt.10:16-23). The pace of society, along with wrongful adherence to cultural trends, now witnesses older Americans’ insistence to maintain both youthful appearances, along with acquiescing to genres our parents and grandparents would never consider for themselves. I love sports cars and whereas getting in may not be consistently problematic, getting out will be. Instead, I’m understanding how necessary it’s become to more set a tone of joy and peace as any would anticipate senior-hood and wherever you are chronologically, you should assess all our Lord Jesus delivered us from, that should always ask thereafter, what shall I render to HIM, not my selfish will…

 

Father God, the plight of man, so selfish, is yet without ability to forecast whether there’s a next moment and whereas YOU knew from the beginning, we ask that You teach us how to correlate to each day, so as to significantly honor You. May our pursuit, keep our eyes on Jesus, who struggled not to be the Self-less King, as we Objectively desire to be like HIM, leaving child-like behaviors to the young and being HIS example in earth to Heaven, in Jesus Name, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Highest Regard” G. Ward

Proverbs 28:13

“Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.”

The swiftness of days presented invites many towards a hurried pace and even opens an unfortunate critique with any who’ll fail to seize moments that will exercise in decision the way they would. A more appropriate stance will absolutely slow down to recall the pain in such hurried decisiveness, to perhaps contemplate where a hopeful resolute surety exists. Faith in Christ, more than confession, allows HIS lead and during the course of each day insists on numerous spiritual pauses that will contrast how my desires matter against an eternity proposed(?) and that quiet time, even though noise may be all around, will allow a newest spiritual posture that yields to HIS lovingkindness that absolutely displaces things and people so temporary. I bow onto this Great King’s unrelenting presence with great humility, knowing I’ve missed the mark set on so many occasions, yet, HE always seeks to restore me (1 John 1:9). It’s (i.e., my surrender to HIM) the best thing I’ve ever done…

 

Father God, Your mercies are astoundingly here for now; so, may those who’ll listen identify with the deer who pants after the water from the nearby brook, longing to have their thirst quenched by Heaven, as we look to the Author of our faith – Jesus. We’re determining there’s no greater joy than to be intimately acquainted with the grace HE provided – through obedience. May Heaven smile upon the many who’ll say yes to Your will; in Jesus Name, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “A Throne for ONE” G. Ward

 

Isaiah 42: ⁸ I am the Lord, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to idols.

 

To know God as Creator and Sustainer of the earth HE made, that includes everything and everyone is clearly the preeminent mandate. Moreover, HE will ultimately be recognized by all in regards to sole worship of Himself and whereas there’s dire consequence for any who’ll neglect to bow unto the splendor and beauty of HIS holiness by agreeing with everything He says, through obedience and rehearsing HIS attributes. Listen, while all are guaranteed an eternal life, please know, all won’t be eternally exposed to HIS grace and mercy, but doom and torment – because they failed to know HIS Name. Some may ask, “how can such a gracious God send any to hell?” HE doesn’t. One can’t propose to live so entirely on their own volition, making every objective theirs - to then arrive at what’s most important to consider and then question something they failed to do within the scope of their consciousness.

Today is provided to consider a rest HE provides and that reliance on HIM – now, absolutely guarantees peace and joy. Who’d forsake such?

 

Father God, we, Your disciples are/have failed to more understand our role to proclaim and teach Your mandates, causing other thrones to thrive in the mindsets of those You made and whereas You desire their repentance no different than afforded us, we’re busy praising You, without perfect submission. Change us O God, that others may benefit in/through the Savior’s work on their behalf. Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Looking Through the Window…” G. Ward

 

Psalm 119:64

The earth is full of Your goodness, Lord; Teach me Your statutes.

 

I’m recalling a time when electronic devices were minimal and how when any obtained a pocket-sized transistor radio, they became the envy of those all around and whereas that reflection may insist on that era as being the good old days, troubles and trials were numerous, but the information shared didn’t arrive at a moment’s notice. Yet, it was a time when communication was a must. Inquiry, about the well being of another focused in so as to offer great aid to a dilemma and if you said you’d help, one would endeavor that which embodied best care. Generations thereafter, have been exposed more to a hurried society, prioritizing oneself and too busy for genuine inquiry in how one can be helpful unto another.

Those of us who’ve placed our trust in the Lord’s lead, more understand a need for fellowship with like-minded individuals; for our focus remains on the Author and Finisher of where our faith exists. Therefore, our accountability understands that HE won’t leave us, along with knowing HIS peace is indicative of eternal presence. So, we call HIM – Faithful; seeking to be like HIM as we grow up.

 

Father God, what marvelous access You’ve provided; particularly in view of our meditations’ recall of Christ’s redemption of all our indiscretions. May our recall in perceived better days, understand today is given as the best day to proclaim how great You are, no matter the chaos all around and find another who needs to identify Your unrelenting love is now, that leads to forevermore, in/through Jesus, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “The Road Appears Long” G. Ward

 

Ezekiel 33:11, “Say to them, ‘As I live!’ declares the Lord God, ‘I take no pleasure at all in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! Why then should you die, house of Israel?”

 

Whereas God’s mercy is great, along with HIS patience being available for this day exists, the day is young and all are called to stand vigilant of HIS term limit and whereas no one knows of that day, to observe HIS criterion for an eternity with HIM, remains the most significant pursuit for man. That pursuit won’t just know all HE commands, but lovingly adjust to doing them. Moreover, and because HIS commands are not burdensome, the one pursuant won’t undermine the Almighty’s highest standard by rebelling against being changed, so as to reflect the Lord Jesus’ attitude; absolutely placing other’s interests ahead of one’s own.

 

And Lord God, the magnitude of spiritual responsibility rests in all the Savior exemplified. Our imitating HIM must be top priority for every life – who insists, “I know Him.” We’re so thankful on this day for a blessed assurance that Jesus is ours personally and corporately. May HE shine through our every struggle and honor HIMSELF, even using us for HIS glory that grants our joy. In Jesus Name, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “My Friend/Sister EJ” G. Ward

 

Job 1:21, ²¹ He said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I shall return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”

 

Job’s grief, although tremendously sorrowful, would echo such sentiment of trust in Holy God, knowing the span of life is without guarantee for his young offspring of ten, along with the old. He’d yet bless the Lord, knowing his own spiritual example, along with great instruction provided with/in the Truth of God’s Word, witnessed their own determination to honor the Lord in both word and deed. That’s the kind of spiritual legacy worthy to present; for at no time do we see Job so enamored with his riches, but humbled by a continued presence from our LORD.

It was just last Tuesday for more than two hours that I met with my Sister/Friend and whereas we’d meet every week, our sharing how grievous life is/can be, there’d always be a pause to agree on how our Lord preparing a home for us, despite our being so undeserving, yet, He’d do so because of love at the helm of HIS everlasting existence, she’d go to HIM this week, joyously awaiting those of us who’ve absolutely placed our trust in the Savior’s lead. Yes, I’m saddened by such loss, but blessed be the Name of the Lord.

 

And Father God, may we live according to the appointed time as if we had knowledge of it being today and whereas these moments provided desire to commit to being a living sacrifice for Your glory, may our time to being a shining vessel illuminate brightly to indicate, what a joy it is to know the Savior – Jesus! Amen.

1 Samuel 2: ¹² Now the sons of Eli were useless men; they did not know the Lord.

 

Eli was a high priest and judge of Israel and whereas he’d maintain this dutiful call with tremendous respectability, kindness and compassion – he’d be instrumental in raising fools. The Word of God says, "The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God'" To be clear, in biblical wisdom literature, a "fool" does not mean a person lacking intelligence, instead, it describes someone who is morally defiant, rebellious and whereas the parameter of rearing children won’t always mean that some effort in rightful instruction or exemplary leading wasn’t given, but simply may decide that career was/is priority. Ultimately, a child can grow to become successful in a worldly sense, even becoming a great cook, or physician, but inherit HELL, not because they lacked productivity, but solely because parental guidance unto the Lord has always been HIS mandate and great neglect of that spiritual responsibility was more carefully in tune to relegating that to systems, versus compliance; a kind of “I took them to church every Sunday” kind of love (*Deut.6:4-9).

 

Father God, while we ensure good grades and respectable behavior are the necklace of our children, all people belong to You, but not all allow Your reign and rule of them and whereas it’s utterly impossible for mere men to come to You due to their sin nature, ill-considerate of Your Truth in how You can either draw them to Yourself, or reject them, may we rise to the spiritual occasion to intentionally seek to disciple our own, apologizing even for eternal regard onto those we love; for it’s never too late. Praying for clarity and receptivity unto the Truth of Your Word – Jesus. Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Patient Trust” G. Ward

 

Isaiah 26:3, “The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You.”

 

This Prophet, no different than others, was divinely inspired to record Heaven’s regard that lends more security than imposing factions, seemingly mightier. Altogether, it can be compared to “A Tale of Two Cities,” the strong city of God, versus, the city arrogantly governed by mankind (so temporal), representative of human pride and self-reliance. This assessment is an ongoing, unfortunate, timeless dilemma; in that, geography and era may be worlds apart, but mankind’s heart, apart from total surrender to Holy God, remains desperately wicked (Jer.17:9-10). Therefore, we who believe, choose to exist in the city of God; with great meditations of a proposed future hope, while knowing HIS holy script is with guarantee and the whole of mankind cannot determine whether there’s to be a next moment.

 

Father God, the word implicit, attaches itself to how we trust You. Without any doubt or reservation, we’ll adjourn to the Truth of Your Word, for all You offer cannot be thwarted and whereas every other plan is subject to change, we thank You for faithfulness. As we proclaim You as the Only King, may we intentionally speak of the two-city analogy to indicate there’s no need for You to change, for all given from Your throne is perfect, particularly as we look to the Author of our faith, Jesus, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “A Boy Scout’s Oath” G. Ward

 

Jude 1:3, “Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith that was once for all time handed down to the saints.”

 

Our salvation through Christ (as followers), consciously made our repentance of sins known to this Wonderful Savior-Jesus; whereby we were assured of HIS forgiveness, to then determine our lives were/are HIS to do as HE pleases. Moreover, that assurance provided, trusts in all Christ demonstrated by loving us, while we were still sinners and caused a heavenly fraternal order’s expansion – altogether inclusive, to any who’ll place their trust in this Greatest Leader’s protection to cheer and to guide. Our theme’s writer, invited believers then and thereafter to fight hard to protect the core truths of Christianity because false teachers were and still are covertly preying on some vulnerable to being impressed with wrongful additives and subtractions, while insisting they too believe (cf. 1 John 2:19).

 

And Lord God, Your Word guides us into knowing the particulars of the grace provided by our Lord Jesus; even considerate of that which honors men, but worship only belongs to Holy God and that adoration we have for You honors our newest posture through Christ celebrates HIM for who He is and what He has done. So, we pray, may each one involved in this love relationship lean less each day to their own understanding, but allow Jesus to lead them from earth to Heaven. Amen.

Proverbs 3:3 Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart.

 

While many congregants are being taught how to anticipate blessings, pain and sufferings of sorts remains the elephant in the room and whereas Jesus taught those first disciples how encounters involving the marketplace (i.e., within the city gates) would offer agonizing moments, particularly upon having been chosen by an unpopular Savior, along with a message contrary to the religionists of that day, that teaching, compels every generation hereafter. It’s therefore most necessary to practice ahead, that to what the testing presents; for those oppositional need an example that won’t typify a common reaction, but an inordinate affection we have in being owned by the Magnificent Savior – Jesus, while portraying kindness in a harsh world, along with joyfully exemplifying how easy it is to absolutely rely on HIM in every way.

 

Father God, it’s Your lovingkindness towards us that grants us endurance to stand amidst trials. So, may we know that building our faith is the necessary component in not rendering “evil for evil.” As we journey to proclaim knowing You as completely satisfying; may our compassion rise to know how You won’t initially afford us insight on who You’ve chosen before the foundation of the world, while inevitably knowing them by the fruit they bear; proclaiming, use us Lord, for Your glory, In Jesus Name, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Greatest Care Forsaken?” G. Ward

 

Matthew 6: ²⁷ And which of you by worrying can add a single day to his life’s span?

 

Whereas birds awaken to a quest for food and won’t be disappointed, for their Maker provides all they’ll need, He’ll do the same for us. We, however, have been given more intelligence and that was never meant for our detriment, but we’ve selfishly and arrogantly pulled away from our Creator, even storing up things we’ll never utilize, while commanding ownership of moments ahead with no guarantee, even endeavoring great bouts of planning to lack thorough assessment that counts the cost in such decisiveness. Are we (as followers of Christ) to remain idle, even robotic; waiting on an audible instruction from our Lord? No. As the birds work to discover food here and there and whereas great storage isn’t their consideration, but a reliance that the morsels will exist if a tomorrow is granted, we’re higher than they; with an eternal manual to guide us unto the peace our Savior gives.

 

Father God, we’re given life to represent a Home our Lord Jesus prepared for us. Yet, a practice of owning moments, even those not presented, dishonors Your lead and causes grief and even then, when we cry out through godly sorrow, You keep rescuing us. What a Mighty God You are! May we remember more each day provided to cast all our cares on You, for Your care for us is greatest and won’t cease; all because of our Lord Jesus, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Security Force Provided to Any” G. Ward

 

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

 

Our prayers can encompass great supplication that seeks to inform Holy God about earthen realities and whereas our Lord Jesus would teach every follower of Himself. a rightful practice, worthy to embody at Matthew chapter 6, He’d first invite us to know “your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.” Moreover, we must insist on greater trust by furthering, “Your will be done.”

The Almighty has proven to be the safest refuge and although troubles have potential to overwhelm our souls, to know of HIS continued presence, overwhelms our trials, extending greatest comfort to know HE remains present.

 

Father God, confidence in this reality is established by a daily pursuit of desired adherence to Your written Word. It’s there that we’ll find characters once horribly occupied in horrendous sin, to then call on Your Name through repentance and find grace. So, may we know a continued comfort exists for us, particularly that to which grants us peace, while trials persist, to know You won’t ever forsake us, through Jesus, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “All That I AM” G. Ward

 

Psalm 16:8, “I have set Yahweh continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”

 

The study of man, anthropology, involves a holistic approach in assessing who we are and have been historically and whereas the psalmist acts as an anthropologist would, and thereafter never desire a repeat of living on his own whim and desire, he’d express an urgent need towards intimacy with his greatest Treasure, Holy God. Moreover, his recall of an old life, with all its ebbs and flows, that is, its pattern of coming and going, or rising and falling, more craved a life closer to God that brings true stability and peace; to then proclaim a spiritual, imaginative vision, fixated on the Almighty – standing there at his side.

We’d all do well to know as the psalmist portrayed at division 139, “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?”

 

And Father God, we don’t ever want to imagine Your presence vacating ours; so, may we learn more of Your omnipresence and decide that every deed, along with our every word from this journey You proposed for in through Christ – rise to grace presented, that we’d be useful and productive enabling Heaven’s delight in each day granted, and never let go of Your unchanging hand, through Jesus, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Walking and Talking Zombies” G. Ward

1 John 5:12

He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have that life.

 

Believing in Jesus realizes HE is All-Wisdom and desiring HIS forgiveness for oversight in thinking I could rightly govern myself; after all, HE gave me a brain syndrome and although that epithet holds true, it’s contained in great limitation. Therefore, it’s incumbent on my limited ability to know what’s best for me; particularly since mankind is more taught by a hit and miss presumptive practice appearing to know, but is with comparability in playing roulette, to then lose considerably over and over again. Instead, to know HIM, trusts in His sacrifice, and welcomes Him into your heart, desiring to sin no more. If I come as I’ve been, there must be expectation in how He’ll change me and that change will come incrementally, when I investigate that Sacrifice made for me, despite my ongoing feud with flesh.

 

And Lord God, I’m so entirely thankful for this reflection point offered, knowing it’s not merely a great idea, but a lifestyle of depending on the Perfect One, who absolutely knows what’s best and whereas HE’S my Hero, my meditations rejoice for having HIM on my side. I know more than ever before, HE won’t leave me, creating in me a rightful spirit to remain in HIM. In Jesus Name, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “No Need to Explain” G. Ward

 

Proverbs 10:19 “When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, but he who holds back his lips has insight.”

 

It’s said “the squeaky wheel gets the grease,” meaning, people who complain the loudest or make the most noise are the ones who get attention, help, or what they want, while quiet people get ignored and whereas believers seek to follow Christ’s example, who embodied ensuring HIS words would draw attention to the Father’s regard, even modeling prayer early each morning, lending endurance to the many trials ahead (Mark 1:35) and thereafter compelling every learner to know we’re not made higher than HE (John 15:20), it’s become our charge towards a rightful perseverance through/in HIS example; avoiding every opportunity towards being defensive, even expectant to critical behaviors from others, prepared to pardon their indiscretions as HE did ours; remembering, HE told us, our war is not with others as we suppose (Eph.6:12).

We won’t convince others of this peaceable surrender by our many words, perceived so eloquent, but our love demonstrated may certainly persuade them to know HE desires their repentance also (Matt.5:16, John 13:34-35).

 

Father God, from the beginning You knew of our fragility, proposing Perfect guidance and whereas every generation of man sought relying on their insufficiency and landing in all sorts of troubles, You sent our Perfect Example- Jesus. Our desire is to never rebel against this Savior; by unfolding, daily so, along with praying HIS Spirit of endurance, the words of eternality – that disquiets our verbiage and relies on HIS presence to cheer and to guide, in Jesus Name, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “I’m Resembling My Savior More Each Day” G. Ward

 

Matthew 6: ¹⁶ “Now whenever you fast, do not make a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they distort their faces so that they will be noticed by people when they are fasting. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. ¹⁷ But as for you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, ¹⁸ so that your fasting will not be noticed by people but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

 

A personal relationship with God through Christ never meant one should keep their strongest conviction to oneself, but that any would absolutely proclaim their complete dependence on the Lord Jesus. However, that trust, is with a spiritual ratio significantly more weighty on the front (which maintains an insistence to not be seen along with Christ, but ensures HE receives all the glory, as HE grants you and me life in earth to proclaim HIM), versus a wrongful back end, replete with religiosity with boasts in how I made it and whereas Christ knew HIS audience had some zealous members, eager to share with everyone how they were fasting, even with appearances so entirely skeletal, Jesus’ instruction insisted they do all they could to not be seen for what they do, but all grace and mercy would offer from the Almighty’s Throne.

May we disquiet all our accomplishments, to more exact – “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me” (Gal.2:20).

 

Father God, may that desire, rise to the day’s occasion which includes Your imposed instruction for us to become Your teachers in accordance to all we know about this Wonderful Savior and may we never regard how little we know against who perceivably is a greater theologian, but teach every portion with eternal significance, for Your Word is great and You remain greatly to be praised, through Jesus, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “When One Sips at the Cup of Mediocrity” G. Ward

 

Revelation 3: ¹⁵ ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. ¹⁶ So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

 

The city of our Lord’s discourse would draw a contrast of their water supply which ran through conduits warm and nauseating, and whereas a nearby city enjoyed both refreshing cold streams or healing hot springs, this actuality would catch their attention to know their arrogance, self-reliance and complacency was known by HIM and to that end we must understand HE’S still the same God. Therefore, the day presented, with all its magnificent planning, even concerns itself unto a weekend, with all its selfish delight, should more ask, what can I render to You, Lord? Instead, too many will suggest, “this is my money – I worked hard for, so I’ll do as I please!” HIS answer is with the similitude of what it means to say, “I will vomit you out of My mouth.” As the unpleasant taste of water existed in Laodicea, causing its residents to immediately spit it up, our Lord has no part in self-preservation and whereas HIS patience with any is evidenced by the new day presented, perhaps some may not experience another day’s journey – for HE owns the air…

 

Father God, while those of us who’ve experienced Your forgiveness are so grateful, we’re not satisfied with those waddling in impure waters and whereas we desire taking them to Jesus, our Lord, where thirst unto any can be no more, we ask that our plans be significantly reverted to the best plan, as You direct us to them and our sharing would be ongoing, until they’re able to take another by the hand and become part of Your sweet fellowship. In Jesus Name, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Obscured Through My Savior’s Care” G. Ward

 

Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”

 

When a man is faced with an imminent death, he won’t hold to his value system pertinent to politics, social activism, or global unification, but he’ll either embody fear from what he’s never been exposed, or confidence and perhaps the lack of to know of an eternal destiny. If the latter exists, where no confidence or trust abides, perhaps those messages from childhood, then adolescence to manhood concerning the Way of the Lord may surface and as natural men begin to contemplate a few good things endeavored, or points of generosity unto others may rise to consciousness, he may consider that sufficient onto Heaven, but that WON’T QUALIFY ANY.

What any perceive about Holy God, must be verified in HIS Word and whereas a few of us undeserving of such mercy and grace from HIS throne has us contained in trusting HIM in every way, we seek to breathe HIS peace, intentionally so, to another that never imagined they too could have a love relationship, so intimate with God Almighty through Christ.

 

Father God, You’ve given us access to Your room no one could enter and whereas Your Only Righteous Son, Jesus gave that access necessary by giving HIS life in our stead, even rising in the glorious occasion, proclaiming ALL POWER is HIS in earth and Heaven, we welcome HIS assigning us and are comfortable with embodying HIS attitude, giving generously and compassionately because of all HE did and does, thanking You for Your Holy, Incomparable gift, Jesus, our Lord, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “They Got What THEY Deserved?” G. Ward

 

Obadiah 1

¹² Do not gloat over your brother’s day, The day of his misfortune. And do not rejoice over the sons of Judah on the day of their destruction; Yes, do not boast
On the day of their distress.

 

This verse highlights Edom's pride and lack of compassion, showing they profited from their kin's disaster instead of showing empathy, a sin for which God promises judgment, mirroring the principle that "as you have done, it shall be done to you". 

Each of us have squabbles with those we love, but if/when our desire is to see their emotional pain when the thing you may have said becomes true, or if nothing was said, but they despise you for just existing and give you grief each time you encounter them and your rejoicing when the same plight is given them – go to Holy God immediately and witness the price paid for your own sinfulness and how it still violates the Wonderful Savior, when you fail to observe HIS way in everything, yet HE keeps reaching for you.

 

Father God, our ways are corrupt and You’ve determined there is no righteousness found in us apart from Jesus having given us HIS very own. We have no excuse after confessing our sins unto HIM; because, we’ve been given HIS life to witness and whereby HE was opposite of our impractical way, we desire Your Makeover. In Jesus Name, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Artificial Intelligence Pursued” G. Ward

 

Hebrews 13:⁸ Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, and forever. 

 

The moral principles of God’s Word are eternal and believers are HIS representatives in earth to significantly portray these mandates can be done with joy, assuring peace of HIS presence, as we remain steadfast followers amidst an ever-evolving society.

The prior verses to our theme signify a variety of spiritual institutions to consider a reasonable approach in sacrifice and that consideration (for you and me) should always culminate with imitating our Lord Jesus’ example. For HE never sought to merge the highest standard from the Truth of God’s Word with what appeared to be a progressive era, but was always found faithful. Moreover, HE determined that what was proposed for those created by the Almighty should submit to that reign and rule, because the presumption from man is gladly received but for a season and God’s Word is perfect and forever.

The moral code for mankind, established by Holy God is timeless, transcending every generation and we ought not think too highly of modern technology, along with information’s availability at a moment’s notice to suggest we’ve arrived; for soon we’ll all be faced with departure from this weary land, desiring an eternity with HIM, to have never practiced how we’ve placed our complete trust in this All-Wise Savior.

 

Father God, may our blessed assurance rise to the occasion of why today was granted. Redemption from sin given by Christ demanded that greatest sacrifice and now demands ours. So, may we be more intentional than yesterday and find another to instruct, so they also can journey to know what’s been provided them by our Gracious Lord, confidently standing on HIS promises onto an eternity with HIM, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “Selflessness: An Uncommon Posture” G. Ward

 

1 Peter 4:1 “Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, ² so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human lusts, but for the will of God.”

 

The goal of the believer’s confession of his or her own sins forgiven was met by Christ, who suffered, enough so, that disallowed any effort from us through such reconciliation unto Holy God. With such a gift of grace, any should immediately and often ask the question, what shall I render to this Savior who has no need of anything (?) and whereas our Lord’s Truth records, “to obey is better than sacrifice,” it means that doing what God demands is far more important than offering religious gifts or rituals, especially when someone tries to use sacrifices to make up for disobeying God's direct commands. Obedience, is a silent, humbled partner and at the forefront of its compliance, will regard all Christ endured (i.e., including HIS dying), along with HIS generosity in merciful kindness; always putting others ahead of Himself. When that meditation becomes a daily, ongoing reflection, a believer’s life prepares not for more years in earth, void of sufferings, but welcomes them; in view of the home HE prepared for them – whereby the threat of death and troubles are non-existent.

 

Father God, Your plan from the beginning involved this Gift of Jesus and our praise won’t cease to know You had us in mind before the foundation of the world. This day, wishes You a great morning, along with delighting in wherever You take us and proclaiming Your tender mercy to whoever; praying that Your church be revived in the greatest spiritual reality that Christ paid it all, and rendered the perfect example in endurance; in HIS Name we pray, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “What You See, Is What You Get” G. Ward

 

Psalm 119:160, “The sum of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments is everlasting.”

 

I must admit how troubled I’ve been for other’s consideration of perceived, co-equal manuscripts prioritized over God’s Word. I’m an avid reader of most anything, amazed even at qualitative authorship from many, but I’ve experienced the joy to know what our Lord supplied when HE said, “My peace I give you; not as the world gives” and that my friends is known solely through the Word of Truth. Moreover, we’ll need to more understand it as final authority, particularly as we unfold more of its reality that says, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but MY words are forever.”

If as believers, we’re people of eternity, dependent on our Lord’s sustenance in everything, the assurance of HIS presence as we journey in/through this strange and weary land, won’t happen mystically, but only through a daily consultation mandated by our Creator.

 

And Lord God, we pray for one another, that each of us “may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that we may be filled to all the fullness of God” and become more prepared to proclaim HIS grace and mercy, as HIS words grant us security and comfort onto endurance. Today’s Thought “First Day of School with an Empty Backpack” G. Ward

John 15: ²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; if they followed My word, they will follow yours also.

 

Televangelist Kenneth Copeland’s eldest son, is with a recent video expressive in how he doesn’t question God, but won’t understand why his parents are in a debilitative state of health although months away from being 90 years old. Moreover, that same son (in his 60’s) would proclaim “this ain’t right” for my parents to be in such pain. He then would state, “we still speak faith.” The grand-daughter then chimes in to suggest that her Pa-Pa was recently on her podcast to say her grandfather taught her that his healing already took place on the cross over 2000 years ago and he’s just waiting for his body to catch up and many don’t like such an answer. Both are begging for answers (cf. Jas.3:13-16).

Millions have ascribed to these kinds of ministries, very ill-prepared for life’s actualities (*1 Pe.4:12-13); even passing opportunity to carefully examine our Lord’s choosing those first disciples and whereas that listing at Matthew 10 were all killed for their faith, with the exception of Judas Iscariot, who died by suicide and John, traditionally believed to have died of old age, we must prepare (*Matt.16:24). By true faith in Christ, these who placed implicit trust in the Savior live eternally and weren’t taught an attachment to a strange land, but to more exist as a citizen of Heaven (Phil.3:20).

Follow-ship of shiny presentations with demand from charismatic leaders, nullifies “to God be the glory…”

 

Father God, those proposing to be teachers are certainly held to a stricter judgment that none should desire, but exorbitant lifestyles overwhelm spiritual sensibility. So, on today, we pray for the Copeland family, to absolutely witness Truth in their time of need, so as to identify with repentance unto Your lordship, so others may be significantly changed, not for mere popularity’s sake, but because You desire their repentance, through Jesus, Amen.

 

Today’s Thought “The Greatest Prayer: Thank YOU Lord!” G. Ward

 

Psalm 116: ⁵ Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; Yes, our God is compassionate. ⁶ The Lord watches over the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me.

 

While this entire psalm celebrates a love relationship with Holy God, particularly as he’d cry our in utter distress, I want to pay attention to his ending remarks; for they embody desire to do the Father’s will. The psalmist asks, "What shall I render to the Lord for all his benefits toward me?" His resolve was to lift the cup of salvation, and proclaim the Lord as One, even if things wouldn’t deliver a reprieve on his own terms, but to know that above all he was afforded a true refuge where ultimate comfort exists. His thanksgiving assured the Lord that never letting go of God’s unchanging hand, would prayerfully serve as a witness to others how living a godly life is easy when a soul has determined I’m a representative of the Holy ONE.

 So, although we know, God has need of nothing, may the service we offer, serve others sacrificially and faithfully, remembering to remain in the shelter HE provides. What a joy to call HIM, Father!

 

And Lord God, we first marvel in how many examples of fallen individuals like us, exists from Genesis to Revelation and whereas like us, rebellion was their middle name, many found their way to surrendering to Your care for them, despite their wavering souls. May we, before every word or deed becomes our demand, remember our Lord Jesus, how HE without hesitance offered Himself in our stead, although entirely innocent, that condemnation from You would never be ours and then determine our every proclamation would speak as though You were speaking, all because of Jesus, Amen.

James 1:22

But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive themselves.

 

We sang a song many years ago that asked a question, “Don’t You Want to Go to that Land, Where I’m Bound(?)” and whereas those lyrics were so entirely melodious, even compelling an audiences’ evaluation of an inevitable eternity with or without Almighty God it can mostly embody an inadequate substitute for sharing the gospel of Christ with its glorious implications. The Truth of God’s Word mandates believers to profoundly teach one lacking (daily) intimacy with Christ – that is, HIS commands (Matt.28:19). Moreover, our Lord would also compel every believer as HIS missionary, because a person cannot believe in Christ if they have never been told about who He is and what He has done and it’s our responsibility to offer that unmerited favor of HIS presentation (Ro.10:14). It however, has become more apparent that our commission by such a Gracious Savior has become the biggest violation for us; for our words are cheapened by great lack in activity. We’re blessed and highly favored, while neglecting to share that same reality with others, in how they too can be (Matt.7:13-14). This day presented won’t call for wearing “sackcloth and ashes” due to inactivity, just repentance; for HE remains our generous, merciful Lord – prepared to extend a second chance.

 

Father God, the Way of the Lord is greatly to be praised and so we ask that our godly sorrow rise to the occasion in all Christ offered, proclaiming HIS sufficiency to any, erasing speculations and presumption unto every mindset by teaching how Jesus correlated in the earth HE made and did so perfectly. May our yes be overshadowed by intentionality to put others interests ahead of our own. In Jesus Name, Amen.
