Today’s Thought “Non-Compliance” G. Ward

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26

Have you seen a cow in the field eating a steak? What about a tree; have you viewed it seeking to uproot to swim amongst the fish? Throughout the history of their existence, there has been no deviation from its original purpose. Mankind however, was given superior knowledge than animate and inanimate along with authority over everything and shamefully (from the beginning) sought independence from the Source of his supply. Condescendingly, his reply continues to exacerbate that Holy God, regarded as the “Ancient of Days” is definitively antiquated and has lost cultural relativity. Ironically, mankind (without scientific data) demands from their intellect that Holy God is Infinite Wisdom. All of this analytical behavior, particularly in contrast to the brevity of life (cf. Ps.90:10) is utterly exasperating! The truth is/has always been that Holy God in His great orchestration of the world and its contents was gracious and merciful in revealing a handbook of TIMELESS proportion enabling a peace comparable to the cow (who he’s been given authority over) grazing in the field, looking to its Author to grow the grass, while appearing perfectly content within the parameter set.

"And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?”And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these…” Matthew 6:27-29

Happy Wednesday!
