Today’s Thought “Cultural Captivity” G. Ward

“See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.” Colossians 2:8

Howbeit that so many seek to justify sin’s attempt in conforming predominance over historical righteousness? Wrong has a new determinate now; its contingency more supports what the masses deem acceptable. Truth is now a code with respect to one’s own interpretive power and its influential sphere becomes the more pervasive dependent on the purveyor in popularity.

Perhaps you’ve been guilty in ascribing to presuppositional behavior? Many that do so aren’t necessarily weak, but lazy. The pursuit intended is not conquering a Shakespearian sonnet with the aid of “Cliff Notes.” It’s a lifetime pursuit in intimacy that’s entirely rewarding. Moreover, although many interpretive challenges exist with Holy God’s script, it’s authoritative transcendence of culture remains relevant.

Happy Monday!
