Democracy promotes a competiveness that certainly can be regarded as amoral. Moreover, it will often preclude a philosophy of vagrancy or mediocrity as entirely unacceptable. It’s their success that becomes an aim for the commoner vs. anyone across socio-economic lines having discovered their own purpose that may be without greater financial reward.
