Psalm 56:4

In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?

Whereas it’s written on our money, perhaps even on a bumper sticker, even found in our mouths – it won’t actualize faith in God and while many are aspirational believers at best (*Luke 6:46), there’s an impractical gamble unto today’s mercy presented from On High, even that to which only hopes for an eternity with God through Christ, and that’s entirely too scarry for me (1 John 3:19-20).
