Today’s Thought “Life’s Goal” G. Ward
Philippians 2
3 Do
nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with
humility consider one another as more important than yourselves; 4 do not merely look out for
your own personal interests, but also for the interests of
others. 5 Have this attitude in
yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,
This
charge is perhaps the most literal and preeminent precept to living a new life
in Christ and whereas the kind of introspection that should exist (daily) for
believers can mostly identify wrongdoings in others (because of a common view),
the earthen contrast of how I match the Savior’s sacrificial attitude is
mandated to become the only one, promoting a merciful patience shown me. Devotion
unto these commands will allow a perfect peace to overcome a plight common to
man, inviting others’ inquiry in how they too can obtain such (cf. Ac.16:25-32).
