Today’s Thought “Grief Dichotomized” G. Ward
John 11:35 “Jesus Wept…”
The Prophet Isaiah recorded He was “a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.” Insight of future events, along with denial from men would certainly drive ordinary humans into clinical depression, but this Jesus, the Overcomer, demonstrated an unwavering reliance on His Father. He would soon raise His friend Lazarus to life, so His tears had to have been for others who would view this as something more astounding to behold vs. life in HIM.
What we see, taste and touch has become the giant in a small room and until that something is met, penetration of greater is marginalized and while implicit faith truly is difficult, there is no gathering unto Holy God through Christ when others are with expectancy of blessings outside of Genesis to Revelation and tears remain incessant even for the believer on behalf of those un-surrendered unto this great cause (cf. Eph.5:1-2).
