Today’s
Thought “Steadfastness Yields A Perfect
Dividend” G. Ward
Titus 1:15-16
“To the pure, all things are pure;
but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind
and their conscience are defiled. They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him,
being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.”
Our society
has demanded we move expeditiously unto a “new and improved” status both
philosophically along with acquisition of the newest technological advances
(cf. 1 Cor.3:12-15). Although enjoying the newest I-Phone may not be problematic,
denial of an android device won’t preclude its usefulness.
We cannot
allow meaningless dictates (transcendent to phones) from our world govern what’s
been essential for other generations before our existence (cf. 2 Cor.5:7);
particularly when our presence in the Creator’s today issued absolutely no
control unto us concerning whether we’ll exist in the next moment. Earth’s presence
is short-lived, a practice field for eternity, requiring daily review as to Who
I depend on with an implicit trust (Ac.4:12). That to which I embrace now
determines where I go. There is no other contrast to perceive and if my mind
thinks otherwise my conscience remains defiled. May it never be!
