Today’s Thought “Houdini Did It…” G. Ward
Matthew 4:3-4 And the tempter came and said
to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
But He answered and
said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every
word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”
To remain in a pit perceived inescapable forgets the
initial demand for my dreaded arrival there and despair won’t allow hope’s
contemplation for escape (cf. Jer.15:19). Believers however have enjoined
themselves to Christ’s example via righteous steps precluding being trapped. Having
the gift of the Savior’s example extends hope that endures, particularly in
moments perceived as impossible, and implicit reliance with what HE modeled is
the calling to fulfill.
