Today’s
Thought “Scantily Clad” G.Ward
“In all things I have
shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember
the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give
than to receive.” Acts 20:35
Most with
school age children are greatly impacted by the many expenditures of back to
school; it does however take on an entirely arduous process for the single
parent. Summer expenses (utility, food and entertainment) were extreme enough,
to now recapitulate the monetary depletion of before. What could be if
believers like me (empty-nesters) would intentionally discover an adult less
fortunate to aid with their back to school endeavor? Unfortunately, the art of
care exercises more in partiality than merciful hospitality. The receipt in
generosity must transcend “me and mine” reaching beyond biological parameter to
attack proposed inevitability of what heaven offers; “After this I looked, and there
before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation,
tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.
They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands” (Rev.7:9).
Happy
Monday!
