Today’s
Thought “Canceling Universalism” G. Ward
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord,
Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father
who is in heaven will enter. Many
will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and
in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And
then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart
from Me, you who practice lawlessness.” Matthew 7:21-23
Imagine a
world where everyone presumes God’s love as tolerant of man (cf. Gal.2:20)
until it involves serial killers, child molesters and the like? Moreover,
imagine such a pervasive thought that makes demands on heaven, while the
supposed recipients therein fail at independent pursuit of HIM who desires to
redeem their souls but everything takes precedent over that great search
(Mt.6:21) and personal intimacy (with God) is relegated to the people that
sound like they know what they’re talking about?
Happy
Friday!
