Today’s
Thought “Activity Speaks Volumes” G. Ward
Galatians
2
10 They only asked us
to remember the poor—the very thing I also was eager to do.
This
apostolic age and its leaders, were very familiar with Jesus’ words, “the poor
you will always have with you.” It was a call to ongoing charity and a
commentary on humanity's persistent need and whereas religiosity of that day
wasn’t consumed in aiding Gentiles, but only “their kind” our Lord exemplified
an indiscriminate care worthy of our adoption and transcendent to every
generation of man; ultimately conveying great admonishing that insists we all
know, to serve God – means to serve others and that commissioning responds with
urgent intentionality.
