Today’s
Thought “Circumstances of Falleness”
G. Ward
Luke 13:1-2 Now on
the same occasion there were some present who reported to Him about the
Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. And Jesus said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were greater sinners than
all other Galileans because they suffered this fate?
Almost immediate to disaster found in a few are questions leading to
presumption on why this would happen. While the interrogation may appear
innocent, it’s mostly soothing in knowing someone neglected righteousness and
my consideration in the same would never be. How arrogant!
After man’s compromise in the beginning (Ge.3), it became impossible for
him to be in the right place at the right time to avoid sufferings of sorts
(cf. Ro.8:18). Therefore the contrast in determining mine own righteousness
must lend perspective to the Only ONE who embodied righteousness in earth and
heaven – Jesus, then follow.
