Today’s
Thought “Ode to My Father” G. Ward
Ephesians 6:4 “Fathers,
do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and
instruction of the Lord.”
Sequestered in close quarters with
family members can serve as a reminder of why it may be important to endeavor
outside curricular activities of sorts. Moreover, it could allow frustration’s
ugly head to rise whereas responses are crude (Eph.4:26), particularly with
children. The objective however must be contained by mercy and respect shown
(*Matt.5:7). Furthermore, the patience rendered our children (no matter the
age) is the safeguard for even our great grandchildren’s receptivity onto Truth
(Jn.14:6). We cannot chant sentiments in believing the children are the future
while allowing their exposure to condescending attitudes that emanate from
their own parentage…
