Today’s
Thought “More Taxes?” G. Ward
Deuteronomy 14:28-29
“At the end of every third year you shall bring out all the
tithe of your produce in that year, and shall deposit it in your town. The Levite, because
he has no portion or inheritance among you, and the alien, the orphan and the
widow who are in your town, shall come and eat and be satisfied, in order that the
Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.
The brave, sold-out bell ringers will appear soon. It’s not the holidays
until their arrival. Outside of most major retail outlets The Salvation Army will
exist seeking to become a major capillary for benevolence for so many
communities and not for just a limited season. Kudos to every missionary in
this Christian service and may you be blessed in perfect consideration as you
give generously.
For all who desire to give but are “heavy laden” with self-seeking ministers
desirous of another exotic vehicle; don’t allow the wicked propagandizing
relative of a few, discourage every/all consideration in addressing the “Poor
among us.” Moreover, when you give, remember the analytical interrogation of
where your fifty cents rests is God’s business, not yours (cf. Ps.24:1)…
