“When the people came into the camp, the
elders of Israel said, “Why has the Lord
defeated us today before the Philistines? Let us take to ourselves from Shiloh
the ark of the covenant of the Lord,
that it may come among us and deliver us from the power of our enemies.”
1 Samuel 4:3
The ark of the covenant for Israel was a
container carried around in the wilderness experience, that would ultimately
find a home in the Temple, embracing the only sacrificial system regarded by
Holy God to indicate (by a high priest’s offering) the Israelites’ sins as
forgiven. How in the world could they estimate this sacred box as a tool of
protection at war time (cf. Ps.127:1)?
Monday has become opportunity for less
perception and more obeisance unto HIS mandates, subtracting from religious
jargon that excludes…
