Today’s Thought “Heart Surgery” G. Ward
“Now when He was in Jerusalem at the
Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs
which He was doing. But Jesus, on His part, was not
entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men, and
because He did not need anyone to testify concerning man, for He Himself knew
what was in man.” John 2:23-25
If/when you follow a man with great regard
among men for a portion of the day, you’ll soon witness his humanity outside of
perceived acclaim. On the other hand, implicit reliance on the Savior never
fails (cf. Ps.139:3).
The character we exact on Monday should be
concerned about Heaven’s scrutiny and judgment from others remains disquieted.
