Today’s Thought “Praying Before Eating” G. Ward
“Who is like the Lord our God, Who is enthroned on high, Who
humbles Himself to behold
The things that are in heaven and in the earth?” Psalm 113:5-6
The things that are in heaven and in the earth?” Psalm 113:5-6
What do you think is the common motive for
many who pray before mealtime? Like me, you may assume the best, contemplating
their gratitude for sustenance. At the
same time I’ve questioned their mid-day snack they may include candy, a
nutrition bar, an apple, etc. Does one bow their head with eyes closed therein
or is prayer solely given when multiple courses are presented?
Ritual for believers is without
consideration, particularly when one’s soul seeks shelter (without wavering)
from The Almighty whether consuming food or not (*cf. Phil.4:11-12).
