Today’s
Thought “Caged Conviction” G. Ward
So Jesus asked the
Twelve, “Do you want to leave too?” Simon
Peter
replied,
“Lord,
to whom would we go?
You have
the words
of eternal
life.” John 6:67-68
The current age to which we live embraces the plethora of daily opinions
provided by both cyber technology, along with 24 hour television. Whether or
not what’s being disseminated is chock-full of truth or error becomes the
superficial evaluation of the hearer, creating a varied truth, or no absolutes.
Generations prior were more prone to independent thought in that the primary
search engine was the Encyclopedia Britannica. The new
embrace appears harmless until you begin contemplating how it’s bled into the
spiritual. Varied truth upholds the charismatic, eloquence verbiage of the
religious leader, trusting more in approval rating over proper interrogation
with his discourse (1 Jn.4:1). Jesus our Lord is the only One deserving of
implicit trust – HIS truth keeps marching on (Mt.24:35).
Happy Thursday!
