Today’s Thought “El Otro Lado” G. Ward

If you say, "See, we did not know this," Does He not consider it who weighs the hearts? And does He not know it who keeps your soul? And will He not render to man according to his work?” Proverbs 24:12

Our entitlement on today lends itself to the other side – what are those with different perspectives thinking? With all the recent events of Baltimore, MD., the organized protests, church leader’s advocacy and fervent media coverage, are any preemptive measures in compliance given those feeling oppression? While peaceable protests are said to be a social fabric (In a democracy) leading towards resolution, I believe leadership (self-imposed or sought) is failing miserably in observing historicity’s success. As violence begets violence, peace compels peace.

We know that no matter the approach in professionalism, carnality can subtract from my juxtaposition in rendering professional standards, particularly when I’ve been given a position of authority over others. If then you give me weaponry and blatant disrespect of laws are shown me – I pray my day remembers professional standards. Some, more want to critique police officers, I say this transcends those seeking to protect and serve and includes doctors, lawyers, teachers, etc. How then do you teach young people to respond in their lack?

Happy Thursday!
